I’m wondering if someone can make some sense of this for me…

I typically use Kratom most days for about 1 month at a time followed by a subsequent 1-2 month break from it. Yesterday I went out and bought my usual brand and it was the first time I’ve taken any since the 1st of March. I took 16g over the course of 10 hours. I admit this is a lot for me in terms of starting back up (but not unusual once I get going and am using it most days). Typically Day 1 is more in the 10mg vicinity.

Last night I couldn't sleep a wink. I had frequent hiccups. At 10am this morning I was still wide awake even though it had been 12 hours since my last dose. And although I didn’t feel nauseous, exactly, I could tell my stomach wasn’t quite right. I tried to make myself eat and after 1 bite of cereal I was throwing up liquid. I can’t remember the last time I’ve vomited, for any reason.

Do you Kratom users know the feeling of nearly overdosing or getting sick from it? Like when you can tell you’ve pushed yourself to the limit and one more dose will be a bad idea? Well I’m still feeling that way right now as I type this. Even though it’s now been 24 hours since my last dose. And I still haven’t had a single calorie of solid food all day long. Still can’t stomach the idea.

And other than a 90 minute nap this afternoon I’ve been awake for 36 hours.

I also still can’t stomach the idea of another Kratom dose. Which proves to me (I think) that I’m not withdrawaling. In fact, my energy and mood has been halfway decent today despite the lack of sleep, appetite, and drugs.

Thoughts on what’s going on here?

It occurred to me I might be confusing some of you by bringing up the withdrawal comment towards the end of that post. I'm being a dumbass as though you all can read my mind or remember my history. So let me clarify the WD thing...

Typically when I stop Kratom use I go through a period of insomnia/restless legs. I usually use Gapapentin to help take the edge off. I’ve been prescribed Gapapentin far longer than I’ve been using Kratom and I typically average about 500mg per day. But that triples to more like 1500mg per day during my withdrawal/insomnia periods. Including 900mg right before bedtime, in order for me to sleep through the night.

But over the last week I’ve been back to my usual 500mg per day average. So that’s why I mentioned withdrawal in my original post. This usual 500mg could be enabling the still-lingering Kratom withdrawals from my previous stoppage, I suppose. But for the most part I feel like I’m back to normal.

I've been using kratom and 7-oh for around a little over a year, and honestly feel like a fog has come over me since starting it. I last dosed 7-oh yesterday and dont plan on returning to it, the wd are just not worth it (along with the price). Going to use plan leaf kratom for a few more days and probably calling it quits with this as well. Also, if you dose the plain leaf powder, I could see how it is doing this to you...I cant stomach the powder at all anylonger, instant gag...

Ironically I bought the capsules yesterday. Which is pretty unusual for me but I bought them on purpose because I need to get this "value for money" idea out of my head. So I bought a 1-2 week supply instead of a 1-2 month supply.

But even though I'm more used to the powder I've got to say that right now, due to my condition, the idea of washing powder is intolerable. Just the thought of that is almost making me want to vomit again

How's it going vegetable dude? I figure I'll chime in on this since I have also used large doses of Kratom and 7OH in the past, and I'm currently prescribed Gabapentin.

Firstly, Nifty, good job on wanting to quit that 7OH shit. It's really difficult. I got off of it but only after coming clean to my fiancee about what it was doing to me. It was easier to quit knowing that I was going to disappoint someone, self-defeating as it is when you fuck up. I've been clean for a while now and feel much better. You will too. The cravings are somehow worse than regular Kratom extracts or even some opiates, even though it honestly doesn't feel as good (imo). Good luck homie.

Asparagus, the thing about Gabapentin is that at low doses it can make you tired, but it isn't a typical CNS depressant and has some effects that aren't well-understood. One of them is a general sense of well-being or euphoria at higher doses; some people feel stimulated and others feel content. I take 2400 per day split into 3 800mg doses for anxiety, and to me it feels mildly stimulating but makes me calm. Besides that, Kratom is very stimulating, and I'm not surprised that you absorbed a sizeable portion of that before you started vomiting. Taking a mid-addiction dose with no tolerance is probably why all of this is happening. I would expect to crash eventually. You'll sleep it off at some point.

That said, your body sounds like it isn't happy with that drug right now considering you feel repulsed by the thought of Kratom. If you want to stay safe, never try a high dose on no tolerance; especially with a real opiate. People going back to their mid or end-game doses and ODing is really common.

You kind of answered your own question and 16g a day when your tolerance was low.( 60% increase when your tolerance is down) Also, maybe you got a bad or possibly stronger batch. That stuff is not controlled and tested the way pharmaceuticals are.

Hiccups can be a sign of acid reflux or herd. Have you been taking a lot of pills or supplements that cause acid levels to rise? Is kratom acidic?

Hiccups and acid reflux are bad on sleep

Best thing you can do is eat high alkaline foods like spinach which is a 15 on the alkaline scale. Broccoli is only a 3

Baby spinach salad with balsamic vinaigrette with a few meals helps. Don't overdo it though or it could cause kidney stones

Imagine there's a line below is is acid or negative, above it is positive or alkaline, you want to get it out of the negative ( acidic) and into the position , or at least neutralize it

As far as the kratom, sixteen grams is way too high. I've had a 250 bag since 2018 and still have at least fifty grams, and it still works decently

I tend to use it on days I didn't get the best sleep ,like the situation, you were in, in your first post, as a nice lil pick me up, 2 grams first thing or with food

I feel kratom is best used on days lacking on sleep, a small amount. I've used it socially before and seems to help socializing, conversations. It can also be used as an appetite suppressant when calories are lower and actively losing body fat

What sucks is how people abuse it , as it was recently banned in Tennessee bc a guy died , the parents blamed kratom, when he was using many drugs, an anti kratom politician got hold of this information, presented to tn house , it passed then went to Senate in Washington, where it passed two days ago.

It could have been a subpar batch, where it was ruined some and sellers wanted to make money

It could have been fine and your body changed and it doesn't work the same as it once did
