This thread should be used for prominent things related to LSD, not posts focused on subjective experiences.

Can you actually get a lysergic acid high from ergot? Like baby woodrose seeds?

a series of protocols existed in a small pharmacuetical project, in a small midwestern town, where many of the citizens and inhabitants were apart of the company. it may take me a while to find the blog, but american chemists for Upjohn, whose names im not familiar with but see their work as profound, started an archive of their epherma, while doing the reading i came across the projects centered around ergot wine. the interest, I assume was to study the natural products. The interest could have, i want to emphasize, and i assume the possibility of euphoria was not lost during the collaboration.

@Ismene2

I guess if its just lysergic acid its the same kind of trip as morning glory seeds

Why is LSD a contemplative - like psychedelic? Meaning that most times, for me it is just not as crazy hallucinating as mushrooms to me..sure different wood grains are very neat to observe and many many other things, but i very rarely get SOLID closed eye visual "sit back & watcb the show", its more of a shimmering guessing game at what i may be hallucinating/seeing or creating? Lol.

I have also had a complete visionary experience while unconscious;
(realized after the fact of course),

was this your basic DMT, Ayahuasca, or possibly high dose mushrooms that cause eye rolls/rolling around/back of your head, as if it's REM sleep sort of unconscious dream state adventure??? I ask because I have experienced geometric pattern like space on LSD with different types of "entity" projecting out of said colors and patterns 'which are usually lime green, neon, and other green/white spectrum, besides the "entities" mysterious dark & almost opal or, piercing eyes.(which brings me back to the moving checkerboard hallucination with eyes closed theory I have that most ppl see as well.

BUT I rarely get this amazing experience or amazing CEV at all for that matter on LSD which is strange to me.

My intention for this thread was for it to be like a timeline of prominent subjects of interest. Your post would best be suited for an existing shrooms vs. LSD thread or a new thread. I know, I should have added a notice to the first post.

I appreciate your response but this is more LSD oriented I just happened to express an opinion on mushrooms..I have questions in that post Red if you can help enlighten me, with these other powerful plants I think the eyes rolling dream visionarystate is something that intrigues me.

Do you see amazing CEV while on LSD, it's potential I feel is what Huxley said in Doors of Perception - that you can become immersed in a contemplative state that you never ever have before, gone through the verses and need to hear the chorus for each individually, and reminded sometimes. But as far as potential I feel this would be it, in finding a way to almost visualize the thought or new ideas in an abstract manner.

I am trying to link all the mega threads. Somewhere they go so out of hand though and that is understandable. There is one for every type of LSD. IP, IV etc.. But looking to link the very last LSD mega thread to this thread. I'll get it, I think....

I do like info in one place. The notion of big and dandy's and mega threads were big at one point. But now a clean up project that is huge.

"Well, the experience that you have when you take LSD is similar to the experience which has been described by the great mystics and philosophers of the past. There's a sense of being in communion with powers greater than yourself and intelligence which far outstrips the human mind and energies which are very ancient. You have a sense of being brought into God's workshop or that the veil is pulled away and for the first time you see how things really are. Of course, God's workshop is very different from what we expect. People don't talk English. Most of the forms are molecular and cellular. They're quite strange and eerie. It's very hard to be prepared for this experience specifically, except the attitude of trust or thy will be done in dealing with mysteries and powers which dwarf your expectations." Timothy Leary

A note about synthesizing LSD:

Seemingly the most advanced analysis of ergot to date:

Uhlig, Silvio, Rangel-Huerta, Oscar Daniel, Divon, Hege H., Rolén, Elin, Pauchon, Kari, Sumarah, Mark W., Vrålstad, Trude, Renaud, Justin B. 2021. "… in the Pickard bust, they found that they were making the LSD with ergocristine. You also see in the list where it says ergotamine, and ergotamine tartrate is the traditional precursor for LSD. However, in the Pickard lab, they were using ergocristine because they found a way to get higher yields off of it, and it was basically a cost-effective situation for them to do, at least from what I understand." Krystle Cole. Sleepy Grass. 2011-09-07. YouTube: NeuroSoup. https://web.archive.org/web/20210721211854/https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yU8Nlu8d2Ts 2:14–2:33

"The major alkaloids are, however, the amides of lysergic acid and of isolysergic acid, and the fragile 1-hydroxyethylamide precursors to them. All these are of interest as themselves, being psychoactive in different ways to different people. A second value is that all these will hydrolyze to the corresponding lysergic acids (LA and iso-LA) with strong base treatment. This mixture is the immediate synthetic precursor to the mixture of LSD and iso-LSD which, on chromatographic fractionation, will provide LSD itself. To be able to go from the local nursery, in two steps and one fractionation, to LSD, would certainly appear to be a virtue to some people." Alexander Shulgin. TiHKAL. 1997. A note about synthesizing LSD:

This study identifed 68 ergot alkaloids that have a lysergic acid core. ↓ That doesn't mean that 68 alkaloids can be used as the precursor to LSD (many are probably just present in trace amounts), but it suggests that many ergot alkaloids can be used for LSD.

The 68 figure is mentioned in Raw Data Processing, page 7141

I think everything Krystle Cole writes or says should be taken with a grain of salt: she also wrote about ergot wine which Pickard said was just a waste product and added that ergot wine doesn't exist or that is either toxic or at minimum causes to much side effects.

Maybe because ergotamine and ergonovine/ergometrine were already heavily regulated and ergocristine only since 2010 (according to wiki) this was the far more easily accessible precursor (especially in large quantities) and therefore the chosen route, just my 2 cents. Although the synthesis is not easy, with the right equipment, knowledge and brain it can be done, the biggest problem is obtaining the precursor. this is common knowledge, so this seems the most plausible explanation to me.

Red is a big help in organizing PD. Many thanks. He found this, always good to have links. People should start using the mega, threads and big and dandy threads. I personally think all info in the same place is good. JMO, and this new one is the latest to post in. However feel free to post wherever. :)

I searched for what I thought I could possibly find , around my Grandfather's house ,before he died.

After as well. Didn't find anything. He took scripted Zoloft. I took one one night, with alcohol and passed out.

As for lsd, I've never really gotten the cev's, nor wanted them. I've never went above 100 mcg. I feel stimulated enough with this dose.
