I've had it. Although one was absente.

Haven't tried it yet, but absolutely want to. I definitely think I'll do the sugar thing when I do. Until I forgot about it. I definitely am going to do it in the next 3 months. Should have made it a New Year's Resolution.
In the U.S. there's disgusting laws about how much thujone can be in it (even for imports). But it's the US, I'm sure the freedoms to have fun and to think will be outlawed soon.

Drink Pernod, it's much the same.

I once spunked an entire two-week’s worth of benefit money on a bottle of legit good absinthe. Asked the guy in the shop what I should mix it with. He suggested Midori. Was actually delicious - and I’m not fond of aniseed.

We got very drunk (was 70% ABV) but only slightly regretted spending all that taxpayer money

(I should probably add I was a hardcore junky and crackhead at the time so money mattered little to me - I never had any anyway so every day was always consumed by grubbing up enough cash to shake the monkey from my back)

I can see where you are coming from. Bought a bottle of Pernod twice to make Oysters Rockefeller in which it is great, but I never finished the bottles.

I definitely think French beer is underrated too. There's a lot of good stuff out there. They nailed wine so it's only natural that the French make good beer.

I'm sipping on cheap supermarket vodka. It's cheap but not offensive. Mostly tastes of nothing, which does the job. I don't get paid till tomorrow. Probably off-label Smirnoff.

Nicer stuff will be bought tomorrow.

I don't drink often, but I like vodka in a Bloody Mary. I can also stand it neat as well.

Normally, I go for stouts and porters. Sometimes mild, which is pretty unique to the north of England, but I bet a US brewery has had a go at doing it.
