Nope, it's a picture of Jim Reid of the Jesus and Mary Chain, taken some time in the 1980s I think.

EDIT: It's Jim Reid, not William as I wrongly stated somehow yesterday. :roll eyes:

Jim was / is the singer (they still tour to this day) and William is the brother who used to have a wilder, big Gothic hairstyle.

Jesus and the Mary chain were such an awesome band, they had ego and that kinda indie way which I despise so much like oasis have but they were serious with it.
I came to them really late but I soon fell in love with their music, the Brian jonestown massacre were another I came to late but made up for.
 
Wow. Just refused alcohol at Tesco, the reason being I'd already had a couple of beers.

I was perfectly stable on my feet and had drunk way less than normal (two 4.5% beers) but apparently it was because of 'safety'.

I'm not driving and I'm certainly not staggering. A manager came over and had to support the staff member, but you could tell she wouldn't have made that decision herself.

I asked what would happen if I bought one beer and then came back for another later on, would the rule apply? Would they consider that intoxication? How do they gauge the level of intoxication? What about people with crates of lager?

Staff member was wearing a hijab so probably doesn't have a clue. I was polite, but they can keep the rest of the shopping I was buying.

That takes the piss. Must admit I've been in Tescos totally hammered and not had any problems buying booze, but they give me the third degree when I try to buy co-codamol from their pharmacy.

Anywhere else, its the usual three statements:

Are they for yourself?
Have you had them before?
No more than three days use.

But these cunts go on to ask what I want them for and what symptoms I'm suffering with.

It's not as if I'm an inconspicuous guy, and she's served me tobacco before. But apparently once a staff member makes a decision, the floor manager has to stand by it, even though every non-Muslim employee was perplexed.
 
There's an area of Stoke on Trent that is rather poetically called 'the cultural quarter'.

There's nothing 'cultural' about it. Just row upon row of dilapidated terraced houses full of people that don't give a shit. It's a fuckin slum...

As per usual, the people that champion this 'cultural diversity' don't have to deal with it on a daily basis.

Fuckin Jobsworths. I can't stand them.

Obviously these sort of 'rules' should be applied with judgement and common sense, and it appears they had neither.

If you have a convenient alternative option, I'd boycott the fuckers for life.

We have Aldi (bad beer selection), Lidl further away and an Asda even further away.

Across the road we have a fine offy, but it's obviously limited, though the beer selection is good and the staff are lovely.

With all due respect, how the fuck does a Muslim know that two 4.5% beers is nothing? As much as I know about Salah. Or less.

The bigger Aldis used to have a pretty good selection of bottled ales. I liked them anyway. There must have been about 10 different varieties at one point. Some of them 5% or 5.5% IIRC.
