I've always considered it my absolute favorite substance because of how surreal and ecstatic the whole experience feels, and the deranged unpredictability of thought patterns when under its effects.
After about 3 years of intermittent use, I started to know what to expect in advance and it definitely lost its value as a creative ace in the sleeve, even if I take it once a year.
Whenever I had to write something truly bizarre before, I knew I could cheat by taking zolpidem and following my step by step strategy for writing on zolpidem, but that can happen no more. The magic has been lost.
What can I use to reach that surreal connection again?
I had experiences with all "Famous" drugs.
Sleep deprivation can come close, but is too heavy on mood and cognition. Lucid dreaming is an all-out upgrade, but prevents one from doing something at the same time and is very hard to achieve consistently.
