Will i see a decent government before i die?

Fuck, yeah... fuck. Ok, totally will go piss on their graves.
I am looking for it right now but it looks like the blog has been taken down.
Your Finnish brother Kaarlo Pentti Linkola was a huge fan of Huxley, he had said several times about Brave New World.

I wonder at times from my Internet history if I am on some MI5 / CIA watchlist.

@Bleaney

You know Brave New World that Huxley wrote was a kind of manifesto for the future? Huxley was a massive fan of Eugenics & he was also a fan of transhumanism among several other nasty things.

So many people read that book from a "Left" viewpoint, it's no shock Mr Savage kills himself, when you know what Huxley was really about & then read his work again it's some scary stuff.
As far as I was aware, Brave New World was written from the same kind of place as 1984, and Fahrenheit 451 - that is as warnings of the dangers of totalitarian governments.

I guess some people may debate that. But that is my impression of the intentions behind these 3 books, probably the most famous and important books of their type.

Unfortunately, many governments around the world, seem to have been using 1984 as a "playbook" for implementing many of Orwell's ideas. I know for sure that was not his intention, he genuinely was coming from the left, and the book was written as a warning. It's terrifying how many of his predictions have already long since come true.

I'd find stuff to back this up, and engage a bit more, but I have a lot of heavy shit going on right now to deal with unfortunately.

Mad books , 1984, animal farm and fareinheit 451 and the films, all the surveillance and continual power changing of world leaders, political groups, religions, cults, some pop music, art and burger franchise's and social media etc but I see it they only change name, label and supposedly cause or causes but they all seem to manifest with a boot stamping on the innocent and defenseless and once the protests turn to riots then revolution/ coup de etat's and take over of power then comes incarceration, brutality, some being an innocent victims. Movements move , revolutions revolve, but neither seem to evolve into a goodly utopia just a dystopian existence, even the Arnie film The running man, or escape from L.A./New York, the hunger games, I am legend (about A.I.) every year there's a new film with twist on dystopia, or Armageddon or some holacust, end/near end of the world/human race

The world is fucked up in some places, and I pray it will never get worse

No real change because the economic model they both follow has been the same since 1976 - free market economics - which funnels money from the poor to the rich. Water companies are a good example - rip off 72 billion in dividends and ramp up debt so its too expensive to nationalise again
Looks like Ismene hit the nail on the head here.

Also trying to get up to date'ish V for Vendetta and London has fallen, Olympus has Fallen, fuck it after COVID 19, Aids, bubonic plague etc no doubt a zombie virus is lurking in a fucked up laboratory somewhere, 28 days, 28 weeks, 28 months Later, I believe that there is a new one out 28 years Later, I have not seen a film at cinema for at least a decade plus, and I don't have Netflix etc I just watch what is available on YouTube or BBC iPlayer and ITV X, but now I am off the crack ill have to find out if I can get Netflix and if it is affordable, I do need to get up to date other than reading the news continually each waking hour. It's the fucking Dystopians constantly putting it in my head to read/watch the news every bloody hour, no doubt they get some sort of energy from it, like a dealer that has you hooked and sucks your money for " energy/power/control" plus their own habits, granted..💙

Whay hay, I have managed to install and join Netflix cheaper than I thought!! Talking of dystopian films the first i started is " The house of dynamite" watched about 15-20mins so far , reminds me of the day after tomorrow, and the other first cold war nuclear weapons films, just had a shot of coffee as well as can not be fooked to sleep yet and I have definitely got to get a gym session in tomorrow before it gets the workout before work/college crew in there as they make it busy and I like to exercise when it's quieter. Netflix seems quite a bargain and I can cancel membership anytime.
Searched for 28 years later but not on there, I'll have to check wether it's been even realesed in the cinema yet, has anyone seen it yet? Oops veering off thread topic 🙄💙

yeah, and while I agree with many points of Linkola, and respected them in some ways, they took some principles too far in their thinking.

Not great, not terrible, hypothetical dictator. Rest in peace.

Fahrenheit 451
as if you know about that book, I love it myself.
It's the one where books are banned & they are burned, the main guy who the story is about is a "fireman" too at the start till he grapos it is wrong to burn books.
Everyone knows 1984 & Brave New World, not that many know about that book for some reason.
You know how it got the title? 451*F is the temp that paper sets on fire.

You ever read "Down & Out in Paris & London" by Orwell?

I am with you here 100%
Linkola was right on many points yet on others he was a fucking nutcase, who the hell wants to eat roast rat & fried bugs for example?

How well is he known in Finalnd?

very well known and people really don't dare to outright disrepect them even if they is considered having peculiar traits. Because of the precious work they have done. Sometimes people refer to linkola-style thinking dysfunctional but no one completely neglects their achievements

This is in a way very brutal, if you watch this I can understand why people may be deeply offended etc by it BUT he has a point in what he says.
Yes I have to put on subtitles for 99% of it, the part in English is quite simple for me to understand though.

I showed this to my brothers ex who was an eco-hippie, she was left speechless after watching it, I just laughed.

LMFAO
When you add cartoon stuff to his quotes it makes his words go down way more smooth imho.
It also is way more darker, it looks cute with nice bears etc & then you actually hear what they are saying..........💀🖤

@Shambles @Bleaney
You ever heard of The West German SPK (Sozialistisches Patientenkollektiv) by any chance?

The SPK's manifesto, SPK: Turn Illness into a Weapon (1971), details their philosophy. They viewed health under capitalism as a bourgeois concept tied to the capacity for labor, with the health system serving to exclude those who don't fit this norm. They believed illness was a fundamental feature of the political economy, not a moral failing. The SPK saw the "mad" individual's state of mind as a response to a society unable to accommodate their needs under capitalism, with revolution being the only "cure". Unlike the anti-psychiatry movement, they didn't distinguish between physical and mental illness, viewing all sickness as having political and societal roots.

This channel on youtube is amazing, I learned about Liver Eating Johnson from these guys & also SPK, this episode goes into SPK & is really worth checking out.

"Mental health, weapons, and liberation from Iatrocapitalism: John brings the tale of the terrorist organization of mentally ill patients and college students and the doctor that founded the paramilitary group."

Arming The Insane: Dr. Wolfgang Huber and the Socialist Patients Collective.

You ever read "Down & Out in Paris & London" by Orwell?
The way you say that it sounds like you're implying I'm thick as shit and don't know anything about anything lol. Not sure if that's your intention, or if I'm reading it wrong.

Anyway, yeah I do love the classic Dystopias.

I've read Down and Out about 3 times. I love it!!

Jack London wrote a very similar book, The People Of The Abyss, 30 years before Orwell's book. London's book is also very good. I've read that twice!

Hard to say if Orwell literally copied London's idea, but it covers exactly the same themes. With the authors immersing themselves first hand in the squalor and poverty in the most deprived areas of London (and Paris at the times.)

I loved Orwell's accounts of when he worked as a dishwasher 12 hours a day, 6 days a week or something, and would spend all his money getting roaring drunk on sundays. And then sweat the hangover out during work on the Monday.

If that is the way it came across as in "you're implying I'm thick as shit and don't know anything about anything" you are very wrong.
That is the #1 issue with text on a screen & I guess the way I type & express things online, I Promise you if I had you pinned along Pete556 I would never bother with you.

I swear down that isn't & has NEVER been my agenda, so many people are aware of "the classic" books like 1984 etc, Fahrenheit 451 is known about but it sits in the shadows of the well known texts such as the work of Huxley. You would be shocked how many people love the movie The Matrix YET have never read or heard of Neuromancer by William Gibson.

I only said about Down & Out...... as it's such an amazing book by Orwell & isn't really known about as much as Animal Farm or 1984. His book "The Road to Wigan Pier" is another by Orwell that goes under the radar.

I PROMISE YOU if I felt you are "thick as shit and don't know anything about anything" I'd not waste my time on here reading what you say, I will have to review the way I type things on here & address you on here.

It's clear you aren't like Pete556 in my view.
