Having experienced only the slightest touch of chronic'ish pain recently, it has certainly got me to thinking of and considering this area.

Ketamine was being hailed a potential wonder drug in depression, unsure how that's panned out.
I had saw it used for nerve pain disorders to apparent positive effect, but for the devastating condition outlined in that link, I just had to check if it had been researched and found effective.
Hopefully I'll never need to avail of chemicals for the purpose of alleviating a chronic pain disorder, but I'm interested to learn more about potential treatments.

Ketamine for Trigeminal Neuralgia — Reset Ketamine - Ketamine Infusion Clinic in Palm Springs, California
Trigeminal neuralgia (also known as tic douloureux) is a chronic pain condition affecting the fifth cranial nerve (1). There are twelve cranial nerves that emerge from the brain and cranial nerve V carries sensation from the face to the brain.
Ketamine was being hailed a potential wonder drug in depression, unsure how that's panned out.
I had saw it used for nerve pain disorders to apparent positive effect, but for the devastating condition outlined in that link, I just had to check if it had been researched and found effective.
They found that ketamine had significantly longer duration of pain relief at 2 weeks, 1 month, 2 months, and 3 months without serious side effects for up to three months. The ketamine infusion group also had a decrease in the use of carbamazepine by patients.
