I’ve been struggling with this hot tooth but mostly keeping it under control because I want to go to a specialist to get a special type of implant that can be inserted immediately after tooth removal and perfectly mimics the shape and size of the tooth they remove. Unfortunately, a few days ago I was not eating carefully enough and it seems I bit down on a hard seed - there was a hard crunch feel and sound. It’s already badly decayed, but I’m worried I might’ve fractured the tooth leaving the new nerve even more exposed. But maybe I just irritated the hell out of it. It’s a little better than it was at first thanks to constant ibuprofen & ketamine as needed (& I’m on strong opiates for chronic muscoskeletal pain, but honestly, they don’t seem to be doing very much for this, which makes sense because of the type of pain that it is). The pain is a constant throbbing that’s radiating out and up from my lower jaw through the upper jaw and even up to my temple (almost to my eye), but I get sporadic shooting pains from the bad tooth that very overwhelming, and when those get too much, I ketamine out for a little bit.
Obviously, I’m going to try to get it properly taken care of as soon as I can by a specialist but I don’t have a good local dentist - that’s how my tooth got damaged in the first place - and I don’t want to do anything that will prevent me from getting this bioimplant. I’m pretty sure a dentist can just kill the inflamed tissue within the tooth and that should help a lot, without having to do a full root canal. Anyone who knows about such things in detail, I welcome your advice. I really don’t want a screw implant, and I know this whole tooth has to go.
But the real question is, what do I take for this pain? Obviously, I’ll keep taking what’s been working, but I don’t have much experience neuropathy. I have pregabalin but I’m not super functional on it and I need to be able to travel to this specialist in a neighbouring country to get the bioimplant. I’m waiting to hear back right now to see how soon they can fit me in. I recently gave away all my gabapentin so I don’t have any of that atm. But I can get most anything online it might just a few days to a week to come. I’m also open to any natural/OTC remedies I might not be thinking of in my stressed state.
