Christianity working out for anyone else?

I could go on endlessly and almost none of you would care. So be it, but you were warned.

What about you? What about everybody, we are all sinners. I know it is like I am preaching to a wall, but, so be it. Do you think I am embarrassed or ashamed of my beliefs, not in the least.

That was just a little, but I hope and pray it was enough.

Say, and think whatever you want. I DON'T CARE. go ahead call me names, say what you will. But this world is safer place with me as a Christian because being nice or even civilized is not in My nature, but I am not the violent Sociopath I might be if I didn't believe.

So, go ahead and mock me, and then look within side yourself and ask your self are you truley happy, I am usually, but things happen and well....

I got someone I work with who preaches all day long sometimes(ughh) but I am always respectful bc I grew up Catholic and got baptized at like 6 or 7yrs old. I appreciated this and the things I learned in the one week Bible study..I never got confirmed or whatever so I guess I dropped out?

Whatever it is. I do think that to "consider what God's considering"-Kdot is monumental and DOES help instil certain discipline in children which could make them a better adult or human being. But not always and that cuts both ways l, to believers or non believers.

I do still believe in some higher power or that Love is a real deal in this universe or maybe that higher power is just my ancestors? No body knows so shut the fuck up if you preach, Bible in every room, and do not give your kids the excitement of Christmas because Santa is against Christianity...at least some gifts for fucks sake you don't gotta bring fake Santa into it. Jesus to me was real. Did I go to church? Rarely ever and close to never now (fuck the church my opinion) I know I am good with my "God" and sometimes I'll spring a leak and drop in with a prayer otherwise it's personal stuff so I always disliked others who preached it hard this does not go towards OP or anyone..

I wish I could laugh harder, but read a good study Bible, I recommend John MacArthur's study Bible.

I must have hit a nerve, as far as preaching, nearly 6,000 posts and I have only really preached one other time, I really should do more, in a way you have possibly inspired me to preach more often.

I do hope you change your mind, because the real God has a day of Judgement, only he(actually only God The Father) knows the exact timing of the end. Then there is that Great and Terrible Day of Judgement

I was wondering who, would complain first. I was assuming that it would either be a 'word of faith pentecostal' or a lapsed catholic. Been wondering, yep I was right.

Seriously, you actually made me smile. ah, I have no children but, if I did would give them nice presents on Christmas, better than my parents could afford when I was young. A red ryder bb gun, maybe even a dirt bike, or whatever kids these days like. Electronic devices, I pads or whatever and of course if I had wife they would also be stuck with some nice clothes, stuff they would like Air Jordan's if it was a boy and whatever is in style these days. I am partial to Ralph Lauren, but if they have different tastes, then other brands. Also gift cards, after Christmas sales were/are great, to whatever stores they like. Kids are so independent these days.

Also, like I did and my Christian grandparents did I would, when they were young of course, take them trick or treating on Halloween. Although, I would take them to a neighborhood that had a nicer private pond then the one in my backyard. Take them to a wealthy neighborhood, nearby, a better candy haul.

This is the correct forum to do that. Discuss religion. You know 1st amendment stuff, like you are doing in vain. I will preach if I want too. I am glad someone responded, I really need encouragement sometimes.

I knew it would be a stretch, but I was really hoping to piss off some Scientologists. Maybe I need to be kinder, because well that could get really ugly if they tried to intimidate me. Sometimes I just can't shake off the old, me. Boy, could I be unpleasant too be around. I need to work on that.

Baptizing children, I left that part out about what else is unBiblical about the catholic church, gee I left out alot. They even baptize babies, like they even understand what what Baptism is, or the significance. Praying, read a good Protestant Bible and maybe you'll realize a lot else you don't want to read. But need too.

It is always someone, with some little background and some sort of religous beliefs, that creates their own god( little g, not real, just the way The Bible refers to false gods). There is only one and he is very jealous, he even says so. But complex( Father, Son, and Holy Spirit).
That is just the beginning of how complex he is.

But, I will pray for you and don't think that you chastising me will, do anything other than encourage me more. Seriously, I hope someday before it's too late, you come to The Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior.

Actually I didn't read any of your posts on here...I believe in God and Jesus but I don't have to have a "religious war"(definition-adults fighting over who's imaginary friend is better) with you or anyone. My god is same as yours king James Bible? The god of Abraham the god of Moses and I'm pretty sure he won't make me burn in hell..

Unfortunately, organised religion is often guilty of degrading these core values.

They are the hypocrisy that they themselves warn against. It should not be difficult to distinguish hypocrisy. It stands out like flies on horse shit. Not sure how so many people just let it go and not call it out.

However, pastors are said, in a warning of sorts, that they are held too and will be judged on much sticker level. I have read it but, I can't remember which book, chapter or verse.

Sinning, Is depending on how severe, is not hypocrisy. It depends on what, read the Bible, we are sinners, and any pastor who says they don't sin is a liar.

An example of Hypocrisy is this: One person blames another of lies and falseness while they themselves know what they are doing are also lies and falseness. Someone has to give. Truth also stands the test of time. We can have people jump up and down claiming the world is flat but the fact is it is round. There is hypocrisy and there is truth. And truth IS Objective, not subjective like many think.

I dislike the word sin because it gives people a bully pulpit to call others out, which would also be hypocrisy as what you say is true. We all sin (even though I dislike the word) We are all human's with faults. And we all need a little more humbleness. The term glass houses and all....

It's true Jesus didn't leave us a church, although some churches claim he did.
And he did not leave us a book either. What he did leave us is his words. It's up to us how and what, if anything, we decide to do with them.

I have everything against the Church They are playing Chinese whispers, teaching and preaching morality when they don't even understand their own psychology. I mean look at the RC Church, the sheer opulence of the Vatican itself, the prevalence of abuse within its ranks, the office of the inquisition (which still exists btw) and the Jesuits who are a military order. Do we honestly think Jesus would approve of any of that? And they have the gall to slap a cross on everything and demand that people accept the Pope as the supreme authority?

They terrorize the minds of children with the concept of sin and hell. Hey, welcome to the world, oh by the way you are fundamentally flawed and should allow us to suck the joy out of your life for the rest of your existence. Do we think Jesus would approve of that vampiric behaviour?

And not to be disagreeable, but Jesus didn't leave us words either. A parallel example is the enlightened Indian saint, Ramana Maharshi. He would give verbal answers if pressed, but he always maintained that it was his silence, his physical presence (his action) that was the highest teaching. Why? Because words can be misinterpreted. It's like describing dreaming and expecting someone who has never dreamt to be able to accurately translate those words validly. Chinese whispers.

Jesus was a template. A biological template. And people teaching how to be a biological template without actually being that template, is lies.

Exactly. And in that statement the word lies can also be hypocrisy. I will say it again, actions speak louder than words. And churches really contributes to screwing up kids. People unclear on how to follow that template are teaching others. Totally agree.

It really is up to us to learn and grow. Other than books I have not one human being in my life I consider a role model. They exists in books but I never met one.

If one wants to be considered a Christian then one must follow Christ.

Christ specifically spoke about those who go to church in order to gain the favor of their fellow man, namely that in doing so they have already received their reward on earth and will not receive additional reward in heaven.
