Christianity working out for anyone else?

I also love how 95% of the Bible quotes Christians bark at you have almost zero translatable relevance to what is being talked about.

The only thing you said that was relevant was by Charles Simmons. Ironic.
Nope, the only thing you seemed to understand was the Charles Simmons quote, and you really didn't understand that.
The way you view things you would suck at aphorisms.

Peace and Love! And God bless you! :)

"You're stupid and foolish for not loving what I love, for not believing what I believe"

"Peace and love, lulzzzzz"

There you have it folks, the religion of tolerance.
You look like you need to take a look at the mirror and enhance your own defects, not ridicule my perfections.
You may love (or benefit rather) to do some serious soul searching. Everything I've posted has been perfectly discernible by the wise. But the foolish seem not to understand what is easily understandable to the wise.

Peace and Love! And God bless you :)

I don't need to self-reflect on you calling me stupid and selfish for not believing what you believe. You need to self-reflect and apologize, as the person who committed the injury, oh holy one.

I never sin. I'm perfect always. You make me laugh. You have a power for humor. I talked to Lucifer earlier. He said he loves you, because you're able to be duped all the time. I tried to stand up for you, but he told me there was no point in doing so. Peace and Love! And God bless you forever :)

"Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee." - Proverbs 9:8

I would appreciate if everyone would stop talking about each other and start talking about how Christianity did or did not work out in their own life and experience.

Let's agree to allow everyone to have their own beliefs, this is a discussion and will not change anything IRL.

Thanks ❤️

I didn't do anything wrong. I honestly spoke about how Christianity didn't resonate with me, but how it has a common thread of truth with all religion. Then I got lectured with scripture about accepting Christ. Then I got called stupid and foolish for not believing what someone else in this thread believes.

Do your job and chastise the culprit. I am innocent.

But yeah... peace and love... or whatever.

Just to throw this in the mix, I have never been attracted to scripture. I find it doesn't speak to me. Neither has anyone who ever tried to preach scripture to me either, as again I find they never were really speaking to me, only trying to speak at me. I think it falls into the same vein as trying to speak to people about psychedelics, or astral projection, or any other methodology that involves a subjective experience.

And to that end, the one time it did work out for me was during a NN-DMT experience, though it was not Christianity but Jesus that worked. I found myself being intruded upon by a malign presence, it felt very threatening and viscerally real, and for whatever reason I found myself in that moment reaching and holding to the feeling of righteousness that the symbol of Jesus embodies. That being the only symbol in my cultural reference that embodies such a thing. And it worked. It repelled that ominous cloud of vibrating dark lines.

It's a shame we have to wade through the dogma and words, when there may be real value attached beneath. I feel the aforementioned experience demonstrates the power of a collective talisman or perhaps an egregore, where over time millions of people have poured their faith and love towards a singular thought form.

... I do try really hard to treat others as i would want to be treated in their situation. AND IT WORKS GREAT...
The Golden Rule (don't be a dick) is a core value not only in Christianity, but also in Judaism, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Taoism, Confucianism, Sikhism, Jainism, Bahaism, Zorastrianism, and other lesser-known religions and spiritual practices. Also in Secular Humanism.

It seems to me that people of every culture on earth have known for thousands of years that kindness is an important virtue. And it makes sense-- not only for you but also for me, since you are more likely to treat me the way I treat you.

Sadly, the Golden Rule is as disregarded as it is universal. We humans are so often blind to what is obviously in our own best interest.

Yes, I try to be kind. I often fail, but as with anything else it gets easier with practice.

Unfortunately, organised religion is often guilty of degrading these core values. :\

I am not going to pretend to be a tidings paying bible quoting type of guy.

That said I do try really hard to treat others as i would want to be treated in their situation. AND IT WORKS GREAT. Meeting alot better quality of people and being treated kindly. Got into a dentist who wasn't acceptng new patients with medicaid, huzzah.

You could also look at this like from the Rick and Morty persective: Being nice is just hedging your bets for some sympathy when you fuck up. (thats paraphrased)

Or a common sense lense: If you are an asshole you will be treated as such.

Does anyone else feel like this is the spinal chord of being a decent person? (that metaphor may not be great but you get it)
NO

Being human yes, being nice to someone that s irritating.
I d use Stoicism or Cynisme, Greek Philosepher s,
300 BC were wise. Bit like Jezus smart and integer.
So i don t let em get their way or shut my mouth.

Like Jezus and unlike most Christian s or any [semi] organised.
Religion spoon fed kids.

I have a ass hole but before i use it,
You ll have to irritate me. Ignore 1001 nice mail phone attempts. from me to talk about it in a human way. Well forget it never happens. So lyrical war. And then i become a gaping asshole.
Within the law.

Which i mostly enjoy, as it reveals the truth over people.
Gives hidden info, as they breach laws, contracts an protocols.

Best thing: ask up your dossier. 80/ 90 % change its filled with Kakalawaka, and you didn t even knew it. Or gave permission.

Especially working people like this, and religious ones ?
There fake mostly fake hallo s and smiles.
Jezus woud say it in their face, don t know how. Harsh/ polite ?

After all, Jesus left us a Church not a Book ( the Book cas we know it came later, around the 4th Century AC). Holy Mass, the Sacraments , reading and studying and knowing of being part of a 2000 years old theological and philosophic tradition, that works for me ( atm I cannot go to Confession or take the Eucharist but one day soon...) . Don t get me wrong I love the Gospels but the Bible alone it s simply not enough and was not meant to be so

Organized religion(looking whats happened inside our Church) is some kind a mafia....a secret society, hiding behind mask and under the table-terrible things are happening....i know very well what i am talkin' about...Even Apostle Paul begins his preachings about some churhes in those ancient times-in Collsean,Romans...and others-"I know that between u are people who do not good things....etc.......there is no better place for the Devil to hide in than the Church like institution....a master of disguise....ofcourse there is a lot of incredible priests.....but on the top-there is no good

And the Church Jezus left, often seen as the prestige s or sober,
monumental and new buildings build by all separation s of Bible believers.
Catholics, Reformers, Orthodox-es, Baptists, Protestants, Jehovah's.

Church has nothing to do with a building.
But is associated with it by the majority.

Do they also know "Church" means "Convenant".
So essentially
"solemnly and joyfully enter into covenant with one another,
as one body in Christ.".... "We engage therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit,
to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church,
in knowledge,holiness, and comfort; to promote its prosperity and spirituality;
to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines;
to contribute cheer fully and regularly to the support of the ministry,
the expenses of the church, and the relief of the poor,
and the spread of the Gospel through all nations."

My knowledge zilch, but from hear/ say Jezus preached.
In open air, basements, houses, barns. Anywhere to anyone.

And his followers according to the convenant [church] spread his Gospel.

But this is the problem. Jesus didn't leave us a book, or a Church. That's what other men created to imitate what they believed he represented, assuming of course it is all legitimate. It's not much different than the Asian traditions that similarly have texts or temples, these things are imitations of a living dynamism that can not readily be captured in such a way. At least in the Asian traditions they make an attempt to point this out somewhat and underscore that the path is a process.

It should be noted that Jesus didn't go to Church or memorize passages of text. To ride a bicycle, you have to get on and try it. Studying it or attending meetings can only paint a picture that you are not a part of.

But this is the problem. Jesus didn't leave us a book, or a Church.

This is good, and food for thought.

It's true Jesus didn't leave us a church, although some churches claim he did.
And he did not leave us a book either. What he did leave us is his words. It's up to us how and what, if anything, we decide to do with them.

(I have nothing against church btw)

Christianity and Catholicism are two separate religions, Christians believe in God,( The Father, Jesus, The Holy Spirit) The Bible we use is an accurate translation, we have the 10 commandments( the Catholics have 9, they split one of them into 2 because they leave out the idolatry one, because they pray, to idols, dead people, angels ect. Christians don't do that and will get you a ticket to hell, (unless you repent) read the real Bible. God, doesn't not share his glory with idols, false gods or anyone or anything( little g, not really gods) God the Father, Jesus Christ and The Holy Spirit are seperate but as one, the triune and one and only true God. We don't confess our sins to some old but mortal man, but through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Christians( aka protestants were persecuted by the Catholics, burned at the stake and tormented for centuries by Catholics who compromised their beliefs and was created by Roman emperor Constantine and is mix of man made stuff, pagan beliefs( not a pejorative but actually on Pagan beliefs, wrapped it in Biblical terms and distorted and preverted it at almost every turn.
Christianity is Faith based( Christ did not die for nothing, but all those who believe, Catholicism is works based, contrary to the true Bible). If he created the Universe by the shear power of his will and said Let there be light and Universe was brought into existence, he didn't need to say it but did, he is the ALMIGHTY after all. Then he certainly can make sure his word reaches people thousands of years later. Real Christians don't believe in The Pope, confession to a old man but True repentance for our sins( of course we still sin). But we pray to seek forgiveness for our transgressions too as the Bible says to Jesus Christ( The Only True Messiah and one and only True Son of God and the only mediator between man and God the father) We believe that once you have truley repented and accepted Christ as your Lord and Savior you are saved. Also that Jesus was both fully god and man.( no human could look upon God in all his glory and live) Christ was sent to redeem man and save those who believe. When he returns it won't be too save, but to punish. Believe what?

That Jesus Christ was God and the Only True Son of ALMIGHTY GOD. And we also the Holy Spirit is also fully God and omnipresent. We believe that Christ Came to Earth through Mary, but she still was a woman although a good woman she also had to believe That Christ Died on the cross at Calvery and rose 3 days later. She of course witnessed this first hand. Read The Bible. If God can create the Universe by the power his of will. Don't even try to ask me to explain the three in one and triune God aspect, as Jesus said when you have seen me you have seen My Father. The Holy spirit directs people towards Jesus Christ our Savior and the one and only mediator between ALMIGHTY GOD the Father and man. We believe Jesus Christ set aside his glory( the light and power of his presence that would kill any man). Then humble himself and led a perfect sinless life. Even Roman Governor or leader who answered to Rome, Pilate found him innocent and didn't want to crucify an innocent man.
The Pharisees had to lie and pay people to lie. He begged them repeatedly and finally symbolically but literally washed his hands and had him flogged mercilessly and crucified.
Read about this in any and preferably all 4 gospels( The books of Bible in the New Testament, the first 4: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John same story seen through the eyes of 4 divinely inspired men)
Read about The Transfiguration when Christ had too shield and protect those few disciples he showed his true Self Too. Even then they were knock unconscious). My memory is bad and I need to reread the Bible on certain specifics( names, places, chapters, versus, ect (ok some of it mainly the minor prophets and other parts of old Testament and maybe a little of the New Testament for the first time. Heaven and Hell is not about works or good deeds. Although as good book says, that those who are in Christ should bear good fruit( aka be good and do good, but not dependent on Salvation. I say this literally: Thank You ALMIGHTY GOD, for that. Even a close friend, over 25 years ago, who was an agnostic or an atheist, commented on how much of a sinner I was. It seems funny, but haunts me too this day. I was never a pervert and never murdered anyone but if I wasn't a Christian: Violence and I don't mean just a fist fight, been there too many times and still feel guilty, and would only be a question of whether I could get away with it, seriously. And if someone gave me a reason. But like the Bible says vengeance is mine sayith The Lord. That doesn't necessarily mean you can't defend yourself or others under certain circumstances. Just look at what God ordered at Jericho.
Don't believe those forked tongued liars on Television who just want your money( word of faith nonsense and quite frankly, Blasphemous, those Word of faith false teachers.

The Bible warns about all the false teachers and phoney prophets. Such as those who claim to meet and talk to Jesus in Heaven, their fake healings, their almost always wrong prophetic lies, liars who think they can speak things into existence, they lie about divine revaluation and that speaking in tongues ( that was long ago and has not been in real use since sometime in the first century A.D. Back then a person had to have the spiritual gift of speaking in tongues. They would speak by the power of the holy spirit in a real language that they never heard before and there had to be one or two people with the gift of interpretation of speaking in tongues and it made since to them even though it was in a real language that they didn't know. Not some ridiculous babbling like a hyperactive baby who can't form real words or like they do in another religion.
All these lies and greed of most of the preachers who have hijacked the face of Christianity with their nonsense, lies, greed, false revaluations( The Bible is clear, that the Book is closed on revaluations and says so and warns that in the last days false teachers and false prophets will be rampant, like what is going on in the word of faith blasphemous garbage. They almost never use the Bible, except too twist, pervert and distort the word of ALMIGHTY GOD for their own greed and evil purposes. Always be wary of Pastors with huge churches, their are a few good ones like John MacCarthur.

Catholics act like Mary was this eternal virgin. Joseph( yes there are more one man named Joseph, just like today)Who was a blood descendent of King David. This one waited until the birth of Jesus and then well, Jesus had, I guess you could say half brothers and sisters, fully human though. When Christ was dying on the cross, he decided when it was time to go. But before he died he said to Mary, that the apostle John was her son now. (To take care of and protect her in her old age). She was mortal and would be horrified that people( Catholics pray to her or anyone or anything other than Jesus Christ who is the mediator and recieves his praise and prayer through The Lord Jesus Christ). That's why we end our prayers with in the name of Jesus Christ we pray Amen. If you want the free gift of eternal salvation repent of your sins, believe in Christ and pray that he will be your Lord and Savior. Savior from Hell and a place in His Eternal Kingdom.

Christians don't believe in purgatory, the pope, that Peter (who was a teacher of the Jews, it is in the Bible) is The Rock Christianity is based on. It is Jesus Christ who is the Rock, and the words of no man are even close too or let alone equal Too The Word of God. I have as much faith in the pope and all their stuff as I do in garbage taught by L. Ron Hubbard.

Read John chapter 3, the whole chapter( it is not long) Faith alone and true repentance. Yes we still sin and ask for forgiveness. But once one is truley saved they are saved and Satan can't take anything or anyone that God doesn't let him have. True salvation is repentance and faith in the birth, life, but most importantly the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, that he died as a sacrifice to appease the wrath of ALMIGHTY GOD for the sins of man.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever ever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.( John 3:16). Read the whole chapter and the gospels. Same story from 4 different divinely inspired men. (The gospels are the first 4 chapters of The New Testament. But salvation from what?
The Lake of eternal fire: Hell, of eternal darkness, pain and torment, no escape and alone forever and ever.
Asking or praying to Christ to be our Lord and Savior, true repentance from our sins and yes we still do, sin. But a true Christian is new creation. True Belief in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He paid the price, so that those who repent and believe wouldn't have to suffer. If you care about eternity ,which most don't, than read a good study Bible, The Reverend John MacArthur has a great one. He is the pastor in Southern California who defied the authorities during Covid. The law of man is nothing compared to the Law of ALMIGHTY GOD. He kept his church doors open and not only didn't pay the fines but Grace Community Church in Sun Valley California won $800,000. Amen.
