Ontario is really losing its mind lately.
I live near the Windsor/ Detroit boarder crossings( tunnel and bridge or is 2 now?) No, reason to go down to that area( deep into Detroit).
Regardless, of what the bills are and whether or not I agree or disagree; that is scary and shows a real breakdown of the Democratic process.
The Trudeau government has done many things that would be outright unconstitutional in America.
This isn't America where you are, obviously. This has shown what can happen when the Providences of Canada, start acting authoritarian, and basically are mimicking what goes on when you have a leader who does the same.
When you look on a map, Windsor could be called, South Detroit. Lol. I digress, but this; do what you want attitude of provincial governments( the elected officials, should be above doing such things) has chilling consequences on democracy and shows weakness at the highest levels and a real breakdown of the rule of law.
If someone were to say well, pot is federally illegal in America, this is true but it was not done in states in secret.
Also, the federal government doesn't really care and constitutionally the laws against it could be easily challenged.
Besides most US politicians don't care or even secretly support it.( some openly) However, this is because it could hurt their reelection. ( sad I know, but what else is a career politician gonna do, sell used cars?) The geezers vote in droves, trust me we had an election you might have heard about.

This is very true. I was there doing my civic duty. Lol.
My reward last time for voting, jury duty.
I got it postponed a year. But I don't think they would want me on a jury; and not for reasons you might guess. But, I haven't decided what I will do. I have gotten a letter from my personal doctor before for a non criminal legal matter before from him.
But overall, the media censorship and heavy handedness of Trudeau, has a ripple affect that seems to be reaching the providences and could further erode the democratic process in ways not seen in a very long time. BTW, even if I agreed with the bills and was Canadian, I would just as shocked, but I would also be outraged. But it is not my country. Good luck.
