I really miss the 80's and nineties, when I was young people were not a bunch of cry babies, looking to blame everyone but themselves for their problems.
So boomers arent cry babies? The same generation that would have a stroke over a black person using the same water fountain as them

This is what society needs to understand. One of the prime reasons addicts relapse isn't necessarily because of the drug itself but rather due to the fact that once you have lived long enough within junkie circles, you just can't relate to normies anymore. You feel lonely and thus go back to the dope house because at least those people share and therefore feel the pain and experiences that we all have made along the way.
It's a bit like that movie from the 90s where a group of people tried to escape from prison and one of those ex-prisoners was an old man. That old man tried to find his place in his newfound life, started working as a store clerk but as time passed he realized more and more that the world around him was completely foreign to him. He ended up committing suicide. Another one committed a crime just so he can go back to prison again because he couldn't deal with his freedom. Sounds ridiculous but it makes sense if you think about it. Live long enough in the abyss and eventually you'll become the abyss.
By the way, that's true for all junkies in every social class. I was born in the upper class, inherited the wealth of my parents when they died and still live within these echelons, and what I noticed very early on is that even in our class junkies have an insane amount of difficulty socializing and bonding with their non-addict peers. Doesn't matter if it's a country club invitation, a party of one of the board members of my company, or what have you, I always decline and instead meet up with the few addicts I know because I just feel understood by them. There is no relationship with these people outside of professional necessities. And where we are it's all hush hush because we got reputations to lose and those with a machiavellian propensity to blackmail might then use this information to suggest legal incompetence at board meetings and thereby limit your voting power , et cetera, et cetera, et cetera...there is so much we have to be careful about. It feels a bit like how gay people had to connect and meet up back in the early 20th century. Once we do though, we can open up, use together, talk freely and openly and this further cements our bonds and alienates us even more from normie society. And you know what? I honestly don't care. I don't wanna be part of "normal" society. If normality means acting in completely irrational, prejudiced and villifying ways toward people who happen to depend on certain substances to be happy and feel content, then I'm a proud outsider.

Given that the vast majority of self-declared 'trans' people these days are blatantly male-brained transvestite fetishists with a feminization kink on the one hand, and neurotic teen girls with a bad case of 'wanna be speshiul' who think they can somehow 'identify' their way out of misogyny by getting short blue hair and a septum piercing on the other, I don't blame them.
Ten years ago if you asked the average person what 'trans' was, hardly anyone outside of the medical profession and those affected would even have known. Now everybody and their dog thinks they know, and what they immediately picture is a literal hairy bloke in drag ranting that he should be allowed into the women's toilets / losing his shit in a shopping centre, or some deluded tiktok girl with clown make-up and her tits out to Guam screeching about getting 'misgendered' for... errm looking female while being female.
This freakshow circus is what you get when you de-medicalise an extremely rare neurodevelopmental condition and turn it into a socio-political 'identity' that morons with no personality wear like a rebellious fashion statement. The people who suffer the inevitable backlash are the handful of actual transsexuals just trying to live a normal life like ordinary men and women.

Being trans has been a phenomenon for a long time. People likely werent open about it because uh, ya know, theyd get shunned, harrassed or worse. At the end of the day why do you even care? Nobodys asking you to agree with it but rather just not be shitty to people about it. Im not saying there arent some kids experimenting with their identity/sexuality like trying on a new hat, but its really not the norm. I doubt most people who arent trans are gonna go through the trouble of painting a big target on their back for harrassment and ridicule just to feel "speshul". They arent the ones politicizing this stuff, its bigoted people guising under "Wont you think of the children".
Also if someone wants to go assault women, children or men in a bathroom they arent gonna go through the trouble of a gender change to do it.
We are only hearing about people being trans now because this is the first time in western culture anyway that it's acceptable. People had to be more quiet about it years ago because of all the bigots. Sadly we see some of that in this thread. With people like this running around no wonder they stay quiet.
