Well, language is one of my favorite interests. It would be nearly impossible to say anything here as it a very complex, yet intuitive subject and there isn't enough space to even start.
The only thing I can definitely say is that it's constantly changing.

If I'm trying to say that I don't care about the subject matter, then I guess I care enough to make the effort to comment on it.
If I'm wanting you to know that I don't care what you think, then obviously I care what you think.

Sometimes it literally means I don't care , or I don't agree with your post
But mostly in the lounge it's a playful expression of disdain

Additionally, as technology changes more rapidly it drives language to invent new ways of expressing these changes even more rapidly than generational differences did in the past.

"Sucks". When I was a kid that was really kind of a bad cuss word to use, on the same level as fuck.
Now of course it's pretty non-sexual and acceptable, but sometimes I feel compelled to say. "Yeah, it sucks, and not in a good way".
