Opioids How to avoid Nausea?

I’ve had some nausea when taking Kratom in particular, but other Opioids as well. Anyone have any suggestions on what to do to avoid getting nauseous or vomiting?

Take it in capsule form and do not wash and toss. Follow with plenty of water.

I used to mainly wash and toss. I get way less nausea when I use capsules.

Taking less and or spreading your dosage's seems crucial as naussea is just a sign you took a little to much. Or your its your body's reaction to Kratom in general. My body get's naussea from Opium Pod's, no matter the dose. Which is the reason they don't interest me as drug.

What helped me; lay flat, relax and do some breathing technique's, from the belly. The hart rate which is directly intwined with breathing rate. Will lower along with the calm belly breathing. Your tummy muscles will ease up, and hopefully the naussea will disappear/ or go to the background.

And for good measure's do have a bucket 'in case of' near. Puking after Opi's unlike from Booze is not that bad. After it you tend to feel better ime. Although I only remember dry heaving on Kratom, which is annoying but will pass. With alcohol it just keeps going, and leaves you wrecked.

Taking certain antihistamines prior to taking the opoids helps a lot. Stuff like promethazine or dph, there are others too if you look into it. They are also said to potentiate certain opioids

does anybody else have any other reccomendations? what kind of antihistamines can be helpful? i have been dealing with extreme nausea and even the zofran isnt cutting it...

Diphenhydramine (Found in some formulations of Benadryl) has worked for me in the past. Works best if taken about 20 minutes before your drug of choice is taken. Promethazine also has helped prevent nausea. But yea I think most antihistamines are better at preventing/reducing nausea when taken prior to opioids

Dried ginger in a capsule can be surprisingly effective. THC also. Failing that any 5ht3b antagonist. Zofran is probably the most popular one. Metaclopramide is good for acute nausea. I have very little experience with opioids so I'm not sure if that would necessitate any different approach, but I assume nausea is nausea is nausea.

I guess try the combination of the antihistamine and the zofran but as far as I’m aware zofran (ondansatron) is the most effective anti nausea medication there is so if that’s not helping you might be out of luck and will just have to take less of the opioid. My partner gets very nauseous from small doses of opioids used for pain relief even when she has taken ondansatron and promethazine to try and help the nausea. Also if the nausea outweighs the positives then it may be best just not to take them at all

Ok, cool. Yeah, I think I may have gotten to a point where the mg is too high, but I’m trying to make it work until my detox at the end of August. I appreciate all of the help, y'all. I'm going to try the recommendations and get back to you. Has anybody had any experience with Dramamine (dimenhydrinate)? I also see that there are some worries about serotonin syndrome, which I recently learned about and am still trying to understand.

That's gravol. It's safe in normal doses

You could also consider hyoscine hydrobromide (Kwells, Joyrides).

Just be aware many antiemitic medications also have a sedative effect, so use extreme caution when combining with opiods.
They act on the CNS ? So it could slow your breathing to a dangerous level?
