Never has a actor shown such talent, not just in comedy but in serious acting and action movies too, and blown it big time. He doesn't drink, use drugs, just horrible movie decisions. At about 20 he was the only decent actor on Saturday night live, after the show destroyed itself, he kept it alive. The nutty professor is the closet thing to a good Eddie Murphy movie has done in decades( I really am not interested in seeing Dream girls) I think he surrounded himself with "yes people" and went on to make so many bad movies, after proving he also can write(Harlem Nights; do comedy, action and drama) But his career has been in the longest death spiral of any truly gifted actors I have seen. I blame part of this on him(delusionally) thinking he can have a singing career also, he had an another horrible album a few years back.Beverly Hills Cop II. Those were the days when Eddie Murphy was at his absolute best. You guys remember that scene where that fat little fuck of a police chief walks in and Ed suddenly starts talking in this weird french accent, pretending like he wasn't from there? Oh man, what a movie![]()
On another subject: David Hasselhoff?
While this may be before your time, (an entire group of German College students, studying here for a sememster, who I met at a bar back in college, went into panic mode denying that they have ever listened too or knew anyone who did) admitted that David Hasselhoff was a big star there, but could not explain why, sorry. I know that is true, he was liked over their as a singer, hugh joke here though.(of course) why, for the love of all that is great in music; How and Why? If talking about this part of your countries history has been censored and could land you in jail, I fully understand.
Anyways (back to Eddie) he released an awful album and has tried in vain to be a music star(eddie) more than once. and has made so many bad movies and cost studios billions in lost revenue, I still have trouble understanding what truley what went so wrong and stayed wrong for so long with his career? Yes the entertainment industry as a whole is dead. If you haven't seen Beverly Hills Cop 3, don't.
