Israel is under attack

find us examples of the u.s. government bombing native american reservations in the last twenty years or blockading them and refusing to get them water... or sniping children. or beating them at a funeral for a journalist that the u.s. government targeted. last 40 years, even.

you should really look into the living conditions, crime, etc they have to deal with. Not to mention alcoholism and substance abuse. Mental health issues too. Their people were actually genocided. Pretty gross for you to have such a cavalier attitude towards their plight.

openly criticize every other religion on Earth
i know plenty of atheists that will criticize islam.

the thing is, here in the u.s. (and in many western nations), the prevailing superstitious philosophy is christianity. why spend all your time criticizing a minority? there's also the thing of (and the pro palestinian posts in this thread are examples) fighting for the rights of oppressed minority classes, regardless of their ideology (which is not the main point in this topic).

i will be the first to say "refusing to criticize islam for its bad ideas hands (for example the charlie hebdo murderers) terrorists a win", in fact i wrote a song about it. there are some trash lyrics in it, i wanna redo it.

i know it's shitty... i know about the shitty conditions yes yes... i think you missed my point. we are talking about why they don't have terrorist groups.

difference of opinion as to what is the source of their suffering.
(if i understand it) their charter mentions making palestinians' lives better, or something to that effect... and the updated charter (2017) says they don't want to revoke the rights of ppl for their ideology or something to that effect. and says they aren't against jews but zionism.

i would like you to please elaborate on how it is their religion and not living conditions (occupation, etc.) that lead their choice in actions.

well let's see , Hamas Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah (Islamic Resistance Movement)

a Sunni Islamist organization
Islamists are "dedicated to realizing their ideological interpretation of Islam within the context of the state or society."
In their charter they express their desire to transform Israel into an Islamic State ruled by Sharia Law. You say they changed this stance?
In 2007, Hamas signed the Fatah–Hamas Mecca Agreement.[305] At the time of signing this agreement, Moussa Abu Marzouk said regarding the recognition of Israel:

I can recognize the presence of Israel as a fait accompli (amr wâqi‘) or, as the French say, a de facto recognition, but this does not mean that I recognize Israel as a state.[306]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamas#cite_note-FOOTNOTESeurat201950-321
Marzouk further added that the charter could not be altered because it would look like a compromise not acceptable to the 'street' and risk fracturing the party's unity. Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal has stated that the Charter is "a piece of history and no longer relevant, but cannot be changed for internal reasons".

In other words, it's bullshit. Their original charter is still gospel. As shown by the events of Oct 7.

Any more questions? I can't believe you are now openly defending Hamas.

don't lie about me, you can't respond without making up flat- out lies about me?

You sure are doing a lot of PR work for them. Arguing on the internet about the merits of their revised charter, which actually isn't all that bad right? They are "just making palestinians' lives better, don't want to revoke the rights of ppl for their ideology and says they aren't against jews".

You just said Hamas isn't against Jews yet you deny defending them?

If they aren't against Jews, why not defend them?

I never claimed they were completely analogous in every way.

But to be completely honest if you want to weigh victim points, I think it's no contest who has the larger grievance.

My point in all this being: if you look at the religious persuasions of each group, one has a "glory to the martyrs" theme and one doesn't. One has an infidel-killing warlord as it's prophet , the other doesn't.

Maybe that has a little to do with it?

For some reason we are allowed to openly criticize every other religion on Earth, but this one in particular, you're bigoted if you apply the same treatment. You have all these clueless college kids who support The Current Thing chanting violent antisemitic phrases, who have no idea what they're talking about. They just parrot what social media tells them to think without any critical thought or moral consistency whatsoever.

Wars have been fought since the beginning of civilization. Every bit of land has been contested a thousand times over. Israel isn't going away. The world ought to be united in denouncing Hamas , demanding they release the hostages, and surrendering. At the very least, they need to show a willingness to release their victims before any cease fire is considered.
People getting shit on for condemning Islam was over 5-10 years ago. You're absolutely okay for shitting on it now. Get over your martyr complex.
