Recorded in Amsterdam at De Melk Weg (The Milky Way) on 11/12/91. This is the only film footage of an entire Townes concert known to exist and is available exclusively from TVZ Records. 38 songs, run time 1:50.

As is so often the case, I have only reviewed about a third of the music recommendations I see on this board and others.I actually bought that DVD many years ago but about an hour in it went corrupt and wouldn't play anymore. Never got around to replacing it.
Now the full show is on youtube but I might still buy another copy.
Nice! Yeah, his studio recordings have other instruments and they sound a little more countryfried like other outlaw country artists of the day sounded. But his live performances IMHO are where he really shined. He could have you sad in tears one minute and in stitches laughing the next. And of course Townes's solo guitar skills cannot not be ignored. Glad you enjoyed it!As is so often the case, I have only reviewed about a third of the music recommendations I see on this board and others.
However, I finally clicked on one of those Townes Van Zandt videos and jumped into it for a listen.
The song I landed on was awesome! Playing is minimal but the man is a talented songwriter. Reminds me of Leonard Cohen in a way. Poetry set to minimal instrumental.
