That looks like a very bad miss imho, I go by the rule of always pull back a couple of times just to make sure you are still in & not gone through the vein or blown it out. That is gonna bloody hurt!!! #Eek

He has never been strung out afaik so he is ripping the piss with this tragic magic shite talk imo

You’ll notice that nothing you said actually contradicts anything I said in my post, you should work on your reading comprehension fella. I’m guessing you’re probably about 18?

Everything I said was factual (aside from a few arbitrary numbers like 5x that I would imagine people understand are being used as a figure of speech and that you’re not likely to try and argue over semantics about) and anyone who has been around heroin for a while will agree with me.

Of course there are people that are able to inject and go back to smoking, but it is in no way the norm and it is totally disingenuous and lacking in self-awareness to promote the idea that the things I said are not accurate for the vast majority of people. If that is your reality then presumably you’re at least self-aware enough to realize that you are in no way representative of the norm?

I know most people are just on here to chat about drugs but the foundation of this site is harm reduction and it’s an unquestionable fact that steering people away from needles and towards smoking saves lives.

You’ll probably grow up once a few more of your mates have died rather than focusing solely on your personal experience and then extrapolating from that to try and seem clever. I didn’t paint anyone with the same brush, I stated irrevocable facts that can be backed up by reams and reams of academic research.

I’ve called you an ambulance for when you wake up👍

You might not need it, that’s looking like it could just be a swollen miss at the moment.

If you start getting any signs of a hot feeling or a concentrated redness anywhere then it has most likely become infected and you should get yourself straight down the a&e though.

Yeah man you’ll probably be ok.

I used to get that all the time because if I couldn’t find a vein I would just push shots in as a miss. Managed to go years without getting an abscess until about a month or two ago when it happened on a relapse and I had to go and get antibiotics to sort it out.
 
There is the 'other' way. I have IMed ketamine more times than I care to mention, but very occassionally, I've hit a small vein, in the muscle. The ketaminehits like a to of shit; none of the usual 2 minute to lie down and get yourself comfortablr, just sudden effects, so that you are fucked where you sit (one BLer told me of when he had a standing k-hole. It didn't last long - fucked his knee). Most people avoid IV ket, as it is instant anaesthesia (unconciousneds)
 
Only thing I would consider using needles for is if I got my hands on certifiably legit liquid Ketamine. Like if I had an ambulance mate or vet mate that hooked me up.

I used to IV k all the time, it inevitably turns in to an absolute bloodbath and is one of the most depressing existences I can imagine.
 
IV ket is a REALLY REALLY depressing existence because there isn't even any relief from the craving at any point. I suppose for a very short while it's ok but there's basically two outcomes to each hit once you get going. Either it doesn't hit the spot properly and you're left frustrated at the fact you can't get where you want to be, or it just knocks you out and you come round 15-20 minutes later craving another hit. The only real satisfaction is in those few seconds between tasting it in the back of your mouth and disappearing in to full anesthsia, but IM just won't satisfy once that craving for the instant gratification of IV catches you. Add on to that the fact that you have about 5-10 seconds to get the needle out of your arm and recapped properly, and the fact that you're constantly trying to pin up whilst under the influence and totally lacking in any sort of accuracy and said bloodbath ensues. My bed clothes would end up covered in blood and I was always waking up lying on uncapped needles and stuff like that. A lad I was in rehab with used to keep a canula in his arm to deal with this problem so you only have to hit a vein once every couple of days and can then just keep pushing doses in. He was dead by 22/23 years old.

Another problem is that 1ml of water only dissolves a small amount of k and you very quickly need more than that. I would be trying to cook up 200-250mg in a ml of water (or a bit less tbh so th spike was easier to handle) and then pushing it in whilst still hot because as the solution cools the amount of k it can hold falls and crystals start precipitating out and block the pin. Then you're losing your drugs and getting frustrated and between that and not being able to get a vein because you're injecting 20 times a day it's just a proper shit, frustrating and miserable existence. If you move to bigger barrels then you can only get fatter spikes for them and that also fucks up your veins quicker.

So yeah, if you MUST inject ketamine then really please stick to IM, IV is just not worth it.
 
I think it's the 'street' part that is the biggest problem, these days, seeing a lot of heroin has fentanyl derivatives used to stretch out a given weight of heroin. That in itself, wouldn't be a problem, if it wasn't for the fact that fentanyl is 50x the potency of diamorphine and very few fuckers seem to know, or even care, about being able to produce evenly diluted fentanyl...
 
Hopefully the fent in the UK doesn't increase, I don't think I've ever had it at least.
The "street" part definitely is a factor though, as usually the gear is so bashed that the max 1ml of water is usually dark brown and it's hard to see blood in the barrel.
I have never IV'd good dark web #3, but I imagine that the solution when cooked up would be a lot more appealing to the eye and vein. It would also be dangerous as it would likely be a lot stronger, so a small test shot/smoke would be recommended if you go this way. You shouldn't though.

I've never had #4 either, but I've heard people actually prefer #3 over pure medical diamorphine.

Really though, if smoking isn't working anymore then a break using pregabalin and/or codeine to reduce your tolerance a bit is a better idea than the needle, for sure!
 
My first ever shot IV of drugs was when I dislocated my shoulder badly slipped on wet floor hospital next stop I'm screaming in genuine agony as a ball and socket joint was out of its right full place. Put a tap in my hand and sqirted fentanyl into me...man best turn on ever sunset on Ibiza beach vbut I persisted with more moans and nurses etc we're not having it the specialist gave me a 2nd squirt of fent this was 2008 I have to say it gave me curiousity to further my h studies although injecting h was years away yet my first illicit IV drug experience was with gud quality cocaine in good doses BIGGEST burst of energy flash drive happyness like drug 🎅😝🥳🥳🥳. Ps that is the rose tinted 👓 view I heard off some female at my clinic her brother IV'ed coke for first time and died his heart literally exploded 🙁 so I was careful not to be bragging after hearing more IV coke deaths in the clinic system. So the reality was in sharp focus.

Don't knock NHS drugs. Coke from a CD cabinet and a vial of medical diamorphine were very interesting, but even that pure, there was no way I was going to reproduce taking more doses (I totally understand thr Oscar Wilde quote, "I can resist anything but temptation". I can do without aserious class A habit).
