Personally I didn't find it as addictive as oxy. Part of that stems from how much cleaner oxy is than heroin but also I always found it difficult the few times I did it(maybe a dozen times) to get the sweet spot. I would often over do it.
That's probably because you smoked it. Oxycodone is far more compulsive and euphoric than smoked heroin.
The real selling point for heroin is the effect it has when it's injected. That is where it shines. All other routes it stands out less.
I grew some poppies recently so I had a good chance to smoke large quantities of opium. Compared to smoked tar heroin, it has far less punch, but the overall high is pretty much the same. Even the taste is similar. Smoked opium tastes identical to tar heroin, just minus the vineger. Which makes sense of course, since the only difference between tar heroin and opium is strong, dry acetic acid. What was interesting is that the plants smell vaguely of heroin too.
