Best Drugs for Hangover

for those without opioids or benzos, my hangover cure/prevention:

- Take NAC (N-acetyl cysteine), multivitamin and eat complex carbs + fatty food two hours before drinking (Only take NAC before not during or after)
- Drink tons of water throughout the night (important)
- Eat something before passing out
- In the morning take aspirin or ibuprofen + coffee (this can lead to ulcers, be careful, but if you ate decent amount of food you should be OK)
- Drink a smoothie (including at least a banana and blueberries)
- Take B vitamin complex, taurine, l-theanine
- Do some light exercise, anything to get your heart rate up and make you sweat. I prefer jogging 2-3 miles. This forces blood into your brain, boosts metabolism, etc, helps a lot. Don't overdo it.
- Take shower

congrats your hangover should be gone or minimal, of course this only works up to a point... I mean, if you're like me and drink 20 beers to the face, it helps a lot but you'll still feel a bit crappy all day with that amount of alcohol

also, the amount of people recommending acetaminophen in this thread is concerning

Benzos is the only thing that kind of helps. You can sleep through it. I've not found anything that helps you actually get up and go about your day when you're really hung.

No.
Percocet contains acetaminophen. Oxycontin (straight oxycodone) is a much better choice.

Percodan might be OK. It has aspirin instead of acetaminophen.
Yeah for sure. Acetaminophen makes me horribly nauseous when I'm hungover, on top of the whole liver thing.

I used to use heroin for battling stim comedown but I quit this drug, now I mostly Just smoke weed. Oxy instant 20mg I Also sometimes still use...

I have to take anti psychotics, so when I want to go to sleep after a binge I simply take my meds And they Will most likely make me go KO every time...

Lyrica, weed, ibuprofen, diazepam and maybe metoclopramide for nausea. Nowadays i get so horrendous hangovers i almost lose my mind while "enjoying" them 😅😔
If i don't have anything to help me get through them, i get panic attacks and i cry and have severe anxiety and insomnia for couple of days.. NOT worth to drink More than 6 beers at a Time.

electrolytes, greasy food, ....entering overkill. bzos, opis, hair of the dog.

Yep.. Hydration to the max. My electrolytes were so out of whack last year I was in and out of consciousness then taken to ICU. Sodium was the main culprit and was off-the-scale LOW.

Diabetes definitely contributed to that but I think Shane Warne's heart attack was to do with his electrolyte levels.

The body needs water, salt and sugar. So to rehydrate as quick as possible at home, if you don't have electrolyte powder/tablets, you can make a drink with water and salt/sugar (amounts are online).

I lived on that for a little while coming off alcohol because my digestive system was not happy at all 😬

After reading this whole thread I realize that while it is very entertaining and full of good anecdotes it's just in the wrong sub forum.

Shooting heroin, downing excessive oxy doses, eating benzos and continuing a drinking session will all help you feel better for sure. But it could very well lead to multiple addictions if you drink frequently.

Replacing what we lose when we indulge in our doc ( which is usually sleep, hydration and nutrition ) is the best way to go if you drink often. If you only drink twice a year then benzos, heroin, and oxy won't be too bad I guess. But adding addictive substances after we have already poisoned our body could lead to an even worse outcome.

May move this over to DC.......will wait for @VerbalTruist take on it.

Does it actually work?
Reportedly for so long in herbal remedies which are acknowleged as effective, like echinacea for colds or flu.

But milk thistle basically assists largely with the detox process causing the hangover.

It has long been indicated as effective in reducing hangovers from alcohol.

Fish oil and b complex.

Hydration is important but hangovers are caused by inflammation caused from alcohol leaching omega 3 fatty acids from your brain sheath.

You need a good dose though, around 6-9 grams of 180mg epa/120mg dha.

That and a benzoyl and you'll be good almost immediately
