Gabapentinoids The Lyrica (Pregabalin) Mega Thread v 2.0

I was reading the first post on this thread by the late, great Capt. Heroin. We miss him. Interesting how every individual differs with Lyrica. Lyrica at doses 450mg plus a day made me hyper. Gabapentin 300mg every 45 minutes makes me euphoric (plus the pain relief from nerve pain/neuropathy) but gave me serious nods/sleepiness later in the day, no matter how much coffee I drank.
The goal is to be safe. Always start out low & see what happens. Gaba drugs are complex and aren't for everyone.

That is my experience too. But gabapentin can also make me hyper. I end up more relaxed later on though on gabapentin where as pregabalin can have me restless.

I like both drugs, but really in lower doses, 1800 mgs of gabapentin or 300 mgs of pregabalin I can not tell any difference until it comes time to sleep. I sleep a little deeper on gabapentin. I have jerked awake on pregabalin where on gabapentin I am in a deep sleep. But I think it is my individual body chemistry. But I also see there are other posts comparing the two and people like on or the other a little better. Probably all due to body chemistry. What really trips me out is people on say about 300 mgs daily of pregabalin that stop and do not get a withdrawal. Strange class of drugs.

This is wierd to me as well. It is the only drug that causes a deep depressive state in withdrawal. Others I feel more homicidal than the suicidal.
Some get no wd at all.
Strange indeed.

I'm finding it extremely hard to get off this shit. I can go 3 days/nights without it then I start to crave it for sleep even if it only gives me 5 hours of sleep a night. Used to give me a full nights well rested rest even felt really good in an awesome mood the next day, now nothing I just feel "normal"

Prolly shouldnt dose this every day unless prescribed so from a doctor for specific issues. Just my opinion. Its a gabapentinoid iirc and these are notorious tolerance boosters. Only way I found to keep the magic is to do it less than twice a week and as I understand it this may be pushing it. Works for me.
Of course tolerance is an issue with everything I have run up on.
Any depression after a couple days without? Just curious.
Peace

I will try my hardest to keep it to twice a week and see if the magic returns.
I don't think I get depressed after a couple of days without....just annoyed that I cant sleep, and irritable. I used to take 300mg, now I take 450mg but I still don't get the good mood the next day.

Well I just tried 100mg seroquel plus 100mg Lyrica prescribed by my psychiatrist and I just woke up from the vividly realistic nightmare that I've ever experienced ever!
Had to even call my sister (long distance to another country) to make sure she was indeed alright and she was fine 😅
Interestingly she said she was also prescribed Lyrica when she was recovering from cancer a d had to stop due to severely weird dreams that caused her extreme distress when she woke.
It did give me whst feels like a good night's rest....but I simultaneously feel like I experienced some sort of trauma because I could not distinguish the nightmare from regular reality even after waking up.
I usually dream quite vividly even on heavy doses of benzos and THC but I can always tell I'm dreaming ...it's like Lyrica removes the filter that let's me know my dream isn't real....the even stranger part is that right before bed I had this amazing idea for a movie/TV series/book about a guy who lives 2 lives and in each he thinks the other is a dream but the plot eventually intercedes into both realities and the point of the story was that the main character was actually living 2 lives and could affect things in each reality thst would have an impact on the other.
I'm guessing (without bothering to look it up) thst vivid dreaming is a known side effect of Lyrica???

As someone who only smokes weed with the bit of recreational usage of.. Everything(although very sporadically) is this drug worth having around?

I've been offered it and turned it down got an injury I have. I've never really tried many pharmaceutical drugs. Wouldn't mind having something else on the shelf to indulge in that's 'different' if people reckon its something worth doing?

I don't have an addictive personality, I'm past using drugs daily besides weed. I don't know what that is like regarding this but removing that issue if it is one, would anyone here recommend I bother getting some next time I see the doctor?

why the hell not, bro. it can provide a break in the monotony. as long as you skip days (3 or 4) before redosing pregabalin it should remain fairly reliable as far as effects and helps keep tolerance and addictions at bay.
i wouldnt go above 300mg on the first dose. 200mg may get it but....
please read upnon some takeaways. like potential loss of coordination, sudden jerkiness or uncontrolable movements, blurred vision, etc. if dosing above what is prescribed dont plan on driving or operating machinery or other potentially hazerdous objects.
its like drinking, weed and benzos all in one at higher doses for me. but without most of the downsides to alcohol... dehydration, headache, suckness etc
i see ya dont mess with anything but weed.
dont mix with opiates.

I don't know about long term. For me it lowers disinhibitions and anxiety but makes me seem slightly intoxicated, as my balance goes to hell on large doses.
I have heard of memory problems appearing in people who take it daily.

What do you mean by turnin into my mush?
What I mean by turning into mush is memory problems, can't think of the words to say that kind of thing

Yes, my experience is this is very much the case. Even on therapeutic doses. I don't think it is as bad for memory as benzos, you will remember the previous day but the loss of verbal fluency is quite annoying.

I could stick exclusively to Lyrica forever if it were practical. Too bad tolerance increases unlike any drug I know. I swear that shit rises exponentially or something, in the literal, mathematical use of the term. Even after tolerance breaks it quickly rises right back up, and it's never quite the same experience as the first handful of times again anyway. That and the obvious withdrawals.

Still love it, and can I say coke and Lyrica is a godly combination, imo anyway.
