Hello

A comment you made really caught my attention about “missing” the pain meds. I know I need them but once I don’t I AM scared that I may miss them and am aware of addiction.
You are already physically dependent and I am going to assume your are psychologically dependent as well. Oxy just feels too good to NOT like it.
I was desperate yesterday and decided to try my Clonidine prescription. .3mg. I think it was too strong. I became disoriented, dry mouth, blurry vision and then I basically passed out. Woke up several hours later. I didn’t like the feeling.
Yeah, you messed up your BP big time. That was way to big a dose.....don't do that anymore. Take it from me....pop 900 mgs of your Lyrica and you will feel better in no time. Trust me.

Well....if you were taking 180 mgs of oxy a day I can see why. You are in WD's.

I'm not saying that you didn't need it just that it's a lot of oxy per day. All you can do is take your Lyrica and ativan and hold on until Monday. If he refills....you are golden. If he doesn't just keep taking those other meds you mentioned that you have as they will comfort you and make wd's easier.

43 is still fairly young. Docs probably think 3 months pain meds is long enough. If you were 63 he might extend them and if you were 23 you probably wouldn't have gotten 3 months worth. Our bodies rate of healing depends a lot on our age.

Don't panic. See what Monday brings. But if you get refilled don't take that much oxy as you will run out and I'm pretty sure he isn't prescribing that much. I hear ya though why you are taking that much. Oxy is damn good and it's hard not to eat them like candy.
My doctor prescribed 10mg oxy to take every 6 hours. Then he prescribed 15 mg roxi to take between doses every 4 hours.
I have a habit of giving a few out to family members who may need something too.

Whoa. 900 mgs? My Lyrica comes in 100mg capsules. So take 900mg all at once?

I get it. I realize what a standard prescribed dose should be. 180 is through the roof.

Are you saying you ran out because you gave some away or that you took more than prescribed?

I gave them away. Figured I had so much and wouldn’t need them all so why not help someone out. I have a bad habit of thinking I’m superwoman.

180mg is quite a large dose, indeed

if there is any good news here is that you only took them for 3 months, so the worst and deepest dependence hasn't completely formed yet

and the ativan will be a life saver for sleep

also, remember, that the worst part about withdrawal is psychological. Don't start making assumptions about how you're going to feel tomorrow because this will make it even worse. Assume that tomorrow won't be as bad as you think it will be, and you just might be surprised.

This exactly !!

I’m really bad with math too by the way. If you add up 10 mg of the oxycodone every 6 hours and the 15 mg roxi every 4 hours how many mg is that total? Please don’t make fun of me too bad if I did the math wrong 😑

So far I feel so terrible I don’t crave the opiates at all. Thank you so much for answering my post.

The first few days of recovery after my surgery were so painful and traumatic but I think this is a close second.

You'll get through this. You are stronger than you think. There is more strength within you than what faces you, sometimes we just need to coax it out.

We can certainly empathize and most of us have been there as well. Withdrawal is hell.

But remember mind over matter, if you stay strong mentally it will make it a lot easier.

assuming you are awake for 16 hours per day thats about 90-100mg
Ok. I must be doing the math wrong. I was just taking the 10mg per 6 hrs and multiplying by 4 and then doing the same for the roxi every 4 hours.
Dang. I really suck at math just like my husband says.

your math is basically correct however you're calculating it as if you don't sleep at all, need to factor in those 8 hours

Thanks both of you for your kind responses. I was feeling so alone. The recovery from this surgery nearly broke me and I was scared that this would finish the job. I just didn’t feel like I had anything left in me.
