ashwagandha works amazing for anxiety and sleeping
Ashwagandha is some magical stuff. I take it every day.

Unfortunately, it seems like demand is going up. I've had to switch brands twice over the last eight years when a brand's quality tanked. The last time was two months ago. I'm glad that I was using the bulk powder, because I could tell when it went from tasting like faintly bittersweet clay to bland wheat flour.

Thanks for the support guys I'm feeling a little better about my cat now.

On day 2 of a thc break; really need to lower my tolerance and clear my head. Last time got 6 grams of oil and an 1/8th of flower and went through it in 3 weeks with overwhelming majority of it being gone within the first 2 weeks. At least it was 50% off due to some holiday sale.

Does anyone feel like watching TV of any kind as you come up on acid (or any other psychedelics) really inhibits the depth/peak of the trip?

What it's doing to you during trips is what it does to everyone while they're sober. Television and other interactive screens (monitors, cell phones) are horrible for us. They can disable higher reasoning functions and lull you into a state where you're more susceptible to suggestion. There is a reason they call the content shown on them "programming".

I have mostly sworn off television all together for the last decade. Every now and again I marathon programming or play interactive media on a screen. Mostly because that is the activity the people I'm trying to spend time with want to engage in. I do not like it at all and I don't like what it does to people I care about. I consider it mass brainwashing. It's easy to see the effects of it on other people when you've unplugged yourself from it for a long time. It's like you exist in a different reality. When you aren't being force fed the "correct" narrative everyday it's hard to find common ground with people that are.

A long time ago I was a witness to an event that made international news. I watched two different lies/stories about the event get told through the media. Both are incorrect. Yet people argue with each other about which set of events is the correct one even all these years later. They dismiss actual witnesses to the event. They even go so far as to call us all liars with an agenda.

We would all be better off if those screens were turned off forever. It's just one of many technologies that have been weaponized and used to dumb down the general population. It's a tool used to keep people content with this unnatural way of life we all find ourselves living. We have more in common with farm animals than we do with people that lived thousands of years ago. I feel like almost everything in our lives is designed to prevent us from discovering our real purpose for being here. That includes the drugs most people use for self exploration unfortunately.

two days so far and its awesome for me i just take it at night atm. I only got a months supply in capusales to test it out at the supermarket which luckily was a ksm-66 extract. the last time i had such a powerful deep sleep was when i ate a bunch of tramadol in 2016.

The next alot ill get it from my local advuerya supplier very high quality products at good prices with them instead of the supermarket.

I only got it on a whim was reading about it and suddenly the supermarket stocks it now.

i also take coq-10 300 mg a day for energy. I am feeling alot more alert these days and less anxiety.

Suddenly feels like my life has been flipped around onto a hopefully better track. Most unlikely things have occurred people wanting to reconnect me from 2004 soo random but im keen to make some new friends hope it goes well was feeling isolated and asking the universe please help me make some more friends.

all happened on the same date this astrological transit would happen aswell which i was like 100% like yeah right bs aint gonna apply to me. Then bam shit acutally happened agaisn't nearly impossible odds spooky stuff

does anybody believe in soul mates, swear i randomly meet the other half of my soul but idk how this will play out

I don't know if I believe in soulmates in the way most people refer to the concept... I do believe that some people (and animals) seem to have a connection that defies knowing each other or any sort of real logic. I think there are many people who can fit this for everyone. My cat is the closest thing to a soulmate I have ever met. We have an incredibly deep connection and always have from the first moment we saw each other when he was a kitten.

I feel similarly to Xork on soulmates. I don't think my wife and I were fated to be by any means, this ain't the Matrix lol. But somehow we've formed a bond much deeper than most any couple I've met. It was like we had to create our love for each other, as if it was a new life and didn't exist before us, we had to work hard together and face trials to find out how to truly be happy with one another. And now I can't think of a better, closer friend I could ever have.

My old college roommate, I think we were old souls... something another old friend of mine uses to refer to younger people who don't conform to modern lifestyles. We shared just about every opinion on just about anything. Every other 'old soul' I meet is so much more agreeable and fun to be around than the average person, though few and far between. I can't say I've met any women with old souls, except my wife... perhaps in the end that's what has stuck us together.

^ I agree with both of you. And one of the most coolest things I read is everyone is your soul mate.

I hate to speculate but if we do live more than one lifetime maybe we just now some souls better. I will say the term doppleganger intrigues me too.:)

Somewhat in line with the core message of Videodrome which I saw earlier.

But screens also offer much more than that. Easy access to information, art and communication with other people. A fantastic base for self-growth by all accounts. I would agree however that the situation the internet finds itself in is not ideal. Social media especially are poisonous in many ways.

Been meaning to get around to Videodrome (never seen it) but I've got a few bucks in Amazon credits I could rent it with... dear God, that's silly sounding, considering how hard Amazon works to brainwash/eavesdrop on us for Capitalistic purposes. I threw out my Amazon Echo when it randomly started playing some Johnny Cash in another room... when I asked it what it was doing it denied all knowledge. That was around 2017 or so lol.

Snapchat/Facebook and other novel social media has been creeping me out lately. Snapchat annoyingly so because I just don't like seeing the shit it tries to show me in the 'stories' section and even moreso the fact that the ads are uncannily accurate about my interests at times... thanks cookies lol. Facebook is also getting creepy but in different ways, and I really, really hate the echo-chamber effect it tends to have. Also just tired of seeing peoples' babies, I'm at the age where everyone has gone into 'plop till you drop!' mode and since I'm not keen on kids... it's just annoying lol.

I'm trying to get in some last visits with old friends next month, basically everyone I love is 'trying for babies' (aka unprotected boinking on the daily lol) and so in about a year or two no one will be able to hang out or do fun shit anymore because they'll be leading the double life that is parenthood.

I didn't actually enjoy Videodrome all that much, I was ill when watching it however. I was quite disinterested and didn't buy that it was about anything profound, as opposed to continuous surreal and slightly shocking scenes. But I mean, the fever doesn't help, so who really knows.

I just watch all my movies using Stremio which allows me to stream torrents directly while downloading it with easy access to different subtitles. It's extremely epic that I have almost any movie at my direct disposal within literal seconds. Illegal of course who can resist such a proposal....
Been really enjoying movies, I was always a TV nerd but I've exhausted all those possibilities so it was time for some new stuff, just put some time in building up my watchlist (used letterboxd and found some cool reviewers) and it has been great.

Uffff. I experienced this already when everyone I knew started working as opposed to daily hang outs as students. I guess this is phase 2.

Hah yeah... imagine when someone goes from 25 hours a week in college and able to hang out daily, to working 40-60 hour weeks and able to hang out maybe once on Sundays, to working 40-60 hours a week plus 40-60 hours a week of just parenting shit. I'm already down to seeing my friends maybe two or three times a year at most so once the babies come it's all over :(

25 hours a week... =D I wish, we were much much more lazy and apathetic than that, it is incredible that somehow everyone graduated, at a pretty tough university as well.

2-3 times a year is very very little, it's different here, 75% of my friends live like 10 minutes away by car, the other 25% 30-60 minutes. There's upsides to living in a densely populated country...

Indeed. Even my friends who live in the same metro area as me are a one and a half hour drive away, assuming traffic ain't bad. My best two friends live 3.5 and 5.5 hours away. My best friend from high school lives two days away lol, but that's a lot closer than when he lived in Japan.

It's nice being able to potentially buy land, which is what America really affords as its greatest benefit. "You ain't no kinda man if you ain't got land." But unfortunately that means anyone who isn't living in a dense city with public transit is a decent drive from everything and anything lol.

Exactly in the 1950's through 1970's TV was known as the "boob tube" .Known to make you dumb. lol But I agree with that statement above. No longer are screens a boob tube We gain incredible knowledge and make some good connections through screens. I mean I know it can influence easily influenced people and that is not always good but it is up to us to govern ourselves.

As someone who always felt not good enough, stupid and unloved, I found a lot of inspiration from TV, Film and video games. I got into too much trouble as a kid to care about high school and didn't have anyone to advise me how to plan life. Thankfully, I was able to claw my way to finishing a degree and later graduate studies with an excellent GPA. I still don't read. I like podcasts, listening to great philosophers and enjoy the art of movie making and found familiar favorites on repeat during the pandemic as giant contributors to my current breakthroughs and how I likely will apply this to my life/career....at some point.

I only say this because I do know that civic engagement (at least in the USA) dropped in the 70s due to the television. And while I do think there are a LOT of problems with many aspects of social media, I do think that really great content and experiences can be had with all forms of entertainment. Maybe one day...I'll even go read one of those books that used to intimidate my old Self:)

Nah man, we're all getting influenced, we're all part of the system and in our own way we're all hopelessly addicted. Media and social media are made to be addictive and they change people's behavior. I don't agree that it's only "easily influenced people" and I believe that that is a very poor way of looking at things imo, and it's the source of so many problems in the world since many years.
Even a minor aspect of this is exactly why the internet is going to shit. The people on their fuckin high horse (uhum, the extreme elite and many liberals, which I say from my own fuckin high horse ofc) see regular people as stupid that need guidance and need to be protected from all the dangerous information that is out there. Which is why we see ever more restrictive rules and cooperation of big tech with countries and their government agencies, cheered upon by certain groups of people. This has been a very obvious trend and will get so much worse in the coming years, just gradual and with our short attention spans it just gets lost.
Just think about it, you see 3 headlines, read 4 comments shown to you and one funny video about some dog or whatever, all in a minute... This is subconscious level stuff. Every single one of us is susceptible and we'd be foolish to claim otherwise. And even when taking the politics and media out of the equation, it's about consuming to the max.

but it is up to us to govern ourselves.
I do agree with this :)
But the idea of throwing all the screens away for some amount of time... intriguing huh.
