At my old school the janitor had an affair with a girl in my year. He was 35 and she was 16. Doesn't sit with me right til this day know it's a different scenario but still.

In my school we had a much older teacher in his late 60s or 70s-I never had him as a teacher but he had been at the school since the 1960s or 1970s- who would grope and probably slept with his teen girl students.

It was very well known and he was never fired or punished because he had been there for decades, teachers' unions and administrators protected him, and he had a PhD. but was teaching high school kids.

A friend was on a trip with him and other students in a very large city, and he snuck up from behind on the city street and grabbed her shoulders and started massaging her, she screamed and turned around and kicked him. Other girls I knew said how if they dressed in short skirts and wore nothing underneath during exams or at the end of the school year they would get top marks and grades and it did not matter if they had completely failed the class or exams.

I met this teacher's son before he said he started tripping on LSD when he was 8 or 9, and he told me how his dad was super fucked up and had married a former student and he was sleeping with her when she was a teen and he was a lot older, and that he really disliked his dad and stepmother.

Thinking now, I remember another time, in Iowa, where this same girl, while our friends and I were inside, smoking weed, she was outside playing with all the neighborhood kids in the apartment complex, went outside to try to get her to come get to know my friends, but she stayed out there. Their parents were around and she was just playing. Later she told a story about how one of the little boys tried to kiss her, how he had asked her "can I kiss you?" And said she came inside because it was awkward.

The events happened off-campus so it certainly seems like there would be plausible deniability. It's not against the law to meet your teacher after school, so even if someone saw her with a student how could they know they were having sex? Maybe she was teaching a private class, helping them with an assignment or whatever.

Picture yourself as a 17yo student in that situation. You're having a great time fucking your teacher, so why in hell would you want to send her to jail for sexual misconduct? Not only would you be ruining her life, you would also never fuck her again.

I’m tending to think about this case from a social perspective. Even though these particular boys/young men may not have been damaged by the experience, it is possible that others could be in a similar situation. We also don’t know whether she was in any way coercive.

For example imagine that these boys were not like you guys but were ambitious honour students and she promised to grade them according to whether they met her sexual needs. Now imagine that they were Christian and felt sex sinful outside of marriage or were gay or just not attracted to her for whatever reason. That’s a clear example of sexual coercion.

Without knowing the pschology of each student potentially put into a situation like this it makes sense to make a law that proscribes sex between teacher and student purely based on the issue of cooercion and to assume that all incidences of student/teacher sex are cooercive.

It also makes sense to make a legal example of teachers who break that law, even if the students say they were down with it.

What is nutso is how you are in complete denial about your teacher is a sexual predator that sexually abused you and other children/teens, and it does not matter if it felt 'consensual', was not 'rape' in your opinion, or that you thought you were mature at 12 or 13.

Your sexual abuser was nervous as he had sexually abused other kids/teens before and that he would get caught and exposed as a paedophile as that is what he is. Was he associated with the Roman Catholic church?

Do not make excuses for him as the sexual abuse was not your fault, and sexual predators will tell their victims things such as that it is 'not really sexual abuse', etc. when in fact it is sexual abuse this is called grooming, and paedos/sexual abusers can be very manipulative as well as psychologically abusive.

That is reality.
