I don’t know what type of pussy men prefer.

^^^ i agree to this on the hygiene part, no matter the look but if it smells weird then im instantly put of and will make excuses not to go there or my hand is all they get. Hygiene is a lot more important then looks it self

Shaved like a seal is the only way to go. I shave too so it's not just because I like the look of the female body but because of ease of use. Also I'm not picky but hopefully there's no acne down there. I'm pretty sure I've seen discussions of this sort taking place among women on the Internet. What's rare is for a discussion forum to be full of women talking about sex without a bunch of straight men showing up (or, for obvious reasons, the forums that stay that way, I don't find).

But it would seem "normal" that men try to demonstrate their sexual competence and knowledge as a sort of general virtue, while women are less concerned and only worry if they have some clear reason to think they are not satisfying their partner (among men there is more "paranoia" about this, "she says she likes me but..."). Talking about categories of genitalia is basically a competence signal (however unreliable).

I never understood this competency issue. I'm focused on the female's body and how she takes care of herself. What she thinks of me is basically immaterial

Unless you're talking about a situation where a couples' performance in bed is affected by some kind of mental issue. That's something different
