Yeah normally I wouldn't have a problem and I'd go out and find a girl the "normal" way but the lockdown pushed me into getting an escort thanks to my high sex drive which I've never done before btw. I've decided to not get in touch on Wednesday and I've now moved on.
 
You did the right thing. Just move on. Don’t get involved with someone in that business, I will most likely never end well.

Control your sex drive stop supplementing dopamine for oxytocin. Find you someone that will give you their all. And don’t let go. It’s not easy. It takes forever and the only time you’ll find it is when your busy doing you and not even worried about a girl. In essence. Focus on your goals. Females will find you. Lockdown or not. I don’t see a chasity belt on females right now. And you really don’t want a floozy at the bar anyways. They are good for only one type of connection

I'm 35 in a few weeks and I've been single for 5 years now and I'm starting to panic as I'm not getting any younger. I'm worried sick about growing old lonely and single which will lead to major depression or worse! I'm sure you understand the situation I'm in.

You can’t hinge your happiness on someone else. You need to learn to be alone and to be happy with yourself first. It’s cliche as fuck but it’s the truth. You’ll never be truly happy in a relationship if you aren’t first happy with the person you are. Work on yourself first. Fuck a relationship, they are messy and you need to be pretty well grounded to take them on and deal.

I doubt she was playing with you in a Machiavellian sense. Many people become confused or uncertain about their feelings and, to be fair, you barely know each other having only just met.
 
Of course, there are some stories when such relationships led to marriage, but I think it's just your emotions, don't get your feelings involved with escort. i would never expect a girl to be a stay-at-home homemaker, no matter who where or what shes from....

I'm in the same age bracket and have seen enough to convince me that your life can turn out even worst being married than it can staying single. Divorce has become very common and isn't the beacon of stability that it once may have been. You can easily end up worse off coming out of a marriage that you would have been not even getting into one. I know you didn't mention marriage but in a lot of Western localities now the government treats long-term relationships as defacto marriage.

I think the bottom line is that life is hard and lonely no matter what we do and there will always be people who took the path you might have taken and end up being miserable or dead as a result.

There is a quote I really like, from Kierkegaard, about this very thing -

Like my mum always told me, and BTW she had a successful marriage, you have to find your happiness in yourself. I think that is the best we can reliably do.

It’s worth keeping the bulk of your assets in another country to your wife/de-facto. Preferably a small country she’s never heard of. Make sure you familiarise her with your ordinary local assets so she believes that’s everything you’ve got when she takes you to the cleaners.

Difficult to do for Americans who get taxed on global assets (and get taken to the cleaners by exes most often).

Agh all this cloak and dagger...

I think that people have gotten too comfortable now and that's why these divorces are such life-rending events mostly in the richest developed countries (Anglosphere).

Instead of struggling together and bonds between husband and wife growing strong and resilient, we're all expected to spend 8+ hours of the day at jobs surrounded by people eager to sabotage us.

It's no surprise that we can so easily be influenced to be unhappy when married people live like individuals and feel more like roommates than life[/] partners.
