I am Spanish. I probably know a little more about the COVID19 as it hit Europe a little before.
The first thing to have in mind it is that mostly all data is unreliable. China's data goes without saying for obvious reasons. In the case of Italy and Spain they are only testing really sick people who have already respiratory problems. If your sympthomatology is fever and coughing they tell you to stay at home and you are not in the statistics. Some mathematical models here in Spain estimate that the real number of people infected is about 100 times!! the official infected number of people. So, right now It is not 20000 if not around 2 millions.
That is the most important reason why the mortality rate varies tremendously among countries. For mortality rate we should trust South Korea, because they are the ones who have tested more intensively their population. They are estimating is around 0.6%. Of course, if health services colapse, and they will, that number will go up.
Things are going to get pretty bad. Italy is already discarding old people for intensive care because shortage of facilites. And in Spain we are told we'll start to be on that situation from tomorrow on probably.
I am going to skip all the part where I insult all politicians. Too many too name in too many different places and from all kind of political inclinations. Take care all of you. Be very careful.
