This one bothers me. Everyone seems way to lax about it. Maybe im wrong and I hope I am, but everyone I hear is comparing it to the flu and how many people the flu kills ever year. Yes the average flu kills a lot of people every year, but it is in every community on the planet as far as im concerned. How many will die from this once its in every community in the world. Well have both to deal with.
The thing that worries me most, istn getting sick and dying, though my mother does have a compromised immune system, which means if she gets sick, she dies. But what scares me is the whole world having to shut down. When a tenth of the country is terribly sick at the same time, that pretty much stops everything. No one will want to go to work, and once that happens supply chains are stopped. If you live in a city, there are three days worth of food in that city. That's why theyre called food deserts. What happens when a large percent of the population is sick at once, with the flu, with the kung flu, and whatever else... That puts crazy strain on everything. I stress that everyone should have 2 weeks worth of non perishable food, medicines and clean water/alcohol for disinfectant, just in case you gotta shelter in place. Wash your hands after everything you do, and I would advise against shaking hands or going into crowded environments if you can. BE PROACTIVE. If you get sick, don't go to work. Its ok to wear an n95 mask in public. The looks you get are jealousy for being smart.
As far as drug harm reduction, don't go around smoking with people, or sharing drinks, or tooters. People who smoke will be hit especially hard im gonna guess, since its often pneumonia that's the killer.
If things go bad from this, it wont take long. Be preparted, Be proactive, and Be vigilant and youll be ok (y)
