Thanks mate.. I feel alright though.. Cast is off and just got to wear this moonboot thing for a while.. However the surgeon has said there is a very strong liklihood that I'm going to lose my foot below the knee.. I'll admit that has me spoked for a bit but meh, I'm ok with it... Ive been through worse. They told me I was going to lose my foot when I got shot and that was fucking 10 years ago.

If the NHS have fucked up I'd take legal action against them, I gotta admit that photo made me feel a bit sick, it is the kinda thing you would expect to see on the cover of an Eyehategod album cover. When I form a sludge metal band & make songs about Pete556 I'll add that image to the cover of my debut album.

Good to hear you're alright and yeah a surgeon saying you'll need surgery for something in the future is not necessarily true at all. Surgeons look at everything as: "if this person has a health problem, they need surgery, if they're healthy they don't." They don't think about alternate treatments because they're surgeons, they specialised in that one area and it's all they know.

I've had this same issue and so have many friends and family. Not as severe injuries as you, but nonetheless, surgeons telling them they need surgery and they end up being fine.

So yeah fingers crossed for you mate, and definitely get a second opinion from a GP or something if you do start worrying about it.

I was honestly a bit flabbergasted that they somehow wouldn't know that the cast they put in was effectively a knife edge that would cut into my foot every step I took to the extent that it almost removed my toe.

They just don't care.. Ive also got a broken right wrist too that is in a splint where tripped on my crutches and that's more then a small inconvenience since I'm right handed.

I swear down some of the stuff you hear about the NHS is just crazy.
People going in for surgery to have a hand removed etc & they cut the wrong one off & I remember a case on the news where a man went in to have one of his testis removed & they cut off both.

I remember after being run over by some pissed up idiot I got several broken bones & one of them was my left arm that I use being left handed, I truly feel for you on this one.

Seriously though, i got this 17 page form from the DWP since I've been off work for so long I need to apply for SSP and i was like... "how the fuck do you think I'm going to be able to fill that in when I'm right handed and can't hold a pen?" "... They said." maybe yor doctor will help you if you make an appointment"... How out of touch are these people? Like my fucking gp is gonna fill out a 17 page form for me???? Jesus fucking Christ

Right so I tried it this morning having done the DHC Continus in the late afternoon yesterday knowing this would mean morning constipation.

Definitely does what it says on the tin, took about an hour before I knew it was working because I had a bit of a stomach ache. It's weird in that you don't feel like you need to go. But when you try it works fine. So it does what it should, fucking miracle considering how difficult opiate constipation normally is.

Only problem is I got very nauseous for a few hours up the point where I thought I might throw up. It's only just going away now but I took some antihistamines and chewed on a couple Rennies so it could be because of those for all I know. Only had one sachet too. Next time I'll only do a half.

Will keep this as perhaps a last resort. It certainly does the trick no question but it also makes me feel real sick.
 
To get anything from the DWP you have to fill in something equal in length to Tolstoy's War and Peace, it may as well be in Russian too.
When you think it is people like you that hunt down folks that have left the UK to go join this Sunni cult of death & plan to come back here & blow us up it is a good thing folks like you go to take their head, you should be given whatever the hell you want in my view.

I'd personally give you half of my JSA (though atm it is only £102.80 every two weeks) if you had got a clean shot in on Shamima Begum.
 
A problem I've noticed is the whole process of filling in the forms (for pip and esa for reference, but I'm sure this applies to others) favours the more informed/literate/intelligent, which just isn't fair. As an example I researched heavily, obtaining documentation on how to effectively word things, what points ticking certain boxes gets you, the number of points in total you need to qualify etc. Not because I'm faking any illnesses, but because I was shit scared of not qualifying and satisfying their overzealous criteria. I was prepared for the face to face assessment too. I knew what I'd be asked etc. If you fail to prepare you prepare to fail imo.

I think less able people (for whatever reason, whether lack of a computer/internet, or computer/researching skills, lack of an advocate, lack of advice, inability to read and write well) are more likely to suffer poor outcomes.

Because you really do have to dance to their tune and write in a certain way to qualify for points. The whole process is unfair and harmful and stressful. Tis a joke really.

Always amazes me that the yanks have reverence for those who fought to keep them free whereas here your either ignored or just plain hated..

Couldn't care less though, i enjoyed it. Its not for everyone, but you're with your freinds who you know would sacrifice everything to help you if it all goes south and also the buzz of combat is intense..

Not so cool if you get hit but hey, if that bothers you then don't go..

And yeah fuck the DWP... I get that they want to weed out people who are faking it but they do that at the expense of those who clearly aren't...

Yep. The suicides from clearly mentally ill people being found fit for work are a really bad look for them. The press signal boost those cases a lot, seeding a lot of animosity towards them from the public. You'd think this alone would be cause for some reform. Fuck the DWP I say.

My God what kinda cathinone & dissociative drug-stew were the admin on when this got voted upon as I want some of it.

Seems the party that was held when he got into this role of power is still going strong in the village folks.

Just finished watching Sicario 2 on Netflix..

Was pretty good, anyone seen it? The ending was a bit of a cliff hanger though, I want to know what he was going to do with that young sicario who shot him.

Yeah, there's supposed to be a third one coming out next year and then supposed to be a fourth one after that...

The first one was good... Especial that scene at the border crossing where they take out the two cars fun of sicarios.. Some of the gun fighting looked very realistic...

Still love the bit in the second one where Benicio Del Toro's character throws the grenade into those guys car (although grenades don't go up in big fireballs like that... But was still a good a scene... He doesn't even look up from the wheel lol)
