I grew up on "Hair Metal". I was a metalhead as a teenage girl. From early 1989 until early 1994. My favorite bands were Cinderella, Poison,Guns N Roses, Warrant, Winger, Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, Slaughter, Skid Row, Ratt, FireHouse, Motley Crue and Aerosmith. I went to my 1st Motley Crue concert with my older sister when I was 14. You can call me old all you want but these kids today will never know what it's like to see your favorite band for 11bucks in a sold out stadium or the thrill of buying your favorite album.

It's the best when you can passionately follow an artist without it being tied up in how much you make, for sure. Kids have a raw deal now days imo, not their fault either - hence why passionate/ heart-felt music has dissipated - its just commercialism has changed (before it was emotive;now its more constricted) but at least meaningful music has morphed into different genres; less emotional for sure but although the current zeitgeist has thwarted emotion; it has not thwarted meaning and I reckon this is what has stuck (with good music); which is what matters, imho.

...essentially, I agree with you that, the thwarting of emotion in the arts and culture, generally is some type of cultural circumcision. We live in very censored times -sometimes I find it beyond tragic, as its considered normal - which it aint.

One of the best bands ever imho, I am a huge doors fan.
Saying that though this track & the album it is from isn't that high upon my list, The Doors live recordings such as "Live In New York" give me the chills though, the version of The End is one of the best I've ever heard.

 
^Beautiful stuff. That 'Touch me vid" had me tickled though - it is very awkward - day time family show c. 1960 with the elder string players along with Morrison trying to look iconically swashbuckling and the token jazz player. Definitely, The Doors had some magically passionate live performances, Zip. I remember listening to them on repeat, on vinyl, many a summer. Am fond of this.

I hope the cops informed them how technically, it cant be played at a lower decibel as that is simply, ridiculous.

The Hollywood bowl gig is great, I have it on video (VHS) & I was just going to say the live version of "When The Music....." from the gig is great but you know it anyway.

A lot of the books on The Doors all say the same about this gig, the band were having a real issue trying to find Jim before the gig & they found him with only a few mins to go before they were due on stage, he was meant to be totlly fucked up on acid & having a small freak out, Robbie bribed him with beer to get him to move & he managed to hold himself together to sing like he does on this release.
 
So, I was supposed to be doing some spring cleaning. ( I've been a real slob to myself )

But, I find myself dancing around more than anything else.
