I'm sorry to interrupt this amazing discussion, but I really think anybody who's seen American Psycho (which should be all of y'all, ya fucks) really need to take a minute and a half to enjoy this video right here:

My dispensary once told me when I was picking up some high CBD (0.4 THC 13.4 CBD) weed that it looks kinda ratty because it hasn't had time to be bred to look good. Like most of the very short time super high CBD weed has been around it's been to improve CBD content and focus on how the plant grows rather than making it look pretty. Does that sound about right? CBD weed certainly does look ratty, even high quality stuff from a legal dispensary.

^ Makes sense for the most part. There's always something on the shelf that looks better ime however with a lot of THC instead of CBD.

np, thanks for contributing some nice nug shots :D seems like more people have been posting pics to the social thread now that the legal market has so much dank goods to offer (shatter, vape carts, etc), and there's only a few months left before growing is legal in canada so maybe then we'll see some more sexy cola shots
nice. canada's new laws have a lot of good potential.

noob question, are those not leaves that should be trimmed off before curing?

It should be trimmed off AFTER curing for best results. Buds receive the best cure when the whole plant is hung. Trimming it while wet degrades the final product and is typically done in effort to reduce trimming costs. It is much easier and quicker to trim while the plant is wet and the leaves haven't curled up around the bud.

i just find the high don’t last as long

but i could be misperceiving

i may buy one soon

I don't really see how it would be possible, although you may be getting a different blend of cannabinoids due to the extraction process and vaporization. It may be a different feeling/experience, but vaping THC or smoking THC is going to ultimately have the pharmacology. It will be interesting to see how all the different cannabinoids play a role as more information comes out, but the main psychoactive component, THC, will produce the same effects when inhaled regardless of how it is decarboxylated(vaping or smoked).

This is called drying, not curing.

Not at all. Trimming is already such a sticky process, when you add unnecessary water it causes the leaves to stick to your scissors, hands everything but where you intend it to be.

Do you guys think a pretty good tolerance can build in someone who only uses once or twice a week? I thought it would never build up with that low level of consumption, like with alcohol I never have more than one drink in a day (but I have one every day) except once in a while when I have just one more drink, and that still manages to put me way over the edge. I use pretty low THC stuff once or twice a week but even with that fairly low amount, I seem to be building a fair tolerance. Not huge but moderate.

Lol how many lbs have you actually trimmed? Most people in the industry that I've spoken to would agree...

and by definition, storing dried/cured weed would be a continuation of the curing process.

"preserve (meat, fish, tobacco, or an animal skin) by various methods such as salting, drying, or smoking"

^ You salt your weed, bro? lol

To someone who doesn't use at all, I'm sure using once or twice a week is a big deal. To someone who uses everyday, using once or twice a week would be close to "sober" for them.

Tolerance is all relative. Luckily the LD50 for weed isn't a concern.

lol curing just refers to the preservation process which would include the drying process.

anyways...speaking of LD50.. has anyone seen the article claiming that a kid fatally overdosed from weed? I think it was in Colorado. It seemed a little presumptuous, stating only that they found cannabis in his system and that they had no other explanation for his behavior and death.

Of course, the LD50 is the lethal dose at which 50% of the subjects die, a small percentage could be more susceptible to the effects and die much earlier, but I would think it would be related to other very serious health concerns and/or pre-existing conditions.

It's pretty important to differentiate the two; most blackmarket growers don't care about quality and think that they can get away with drying the bud and calling it done.

Even if he ate 20 grams of say 90% THC oil or wax or whatever (think how ridiculously expensive that would be) that would just be a really bad trip for maybe several days to a week. 50 grams for an adult is the low end of LD50 for an average weight person.

you probably right maf.

it probably does last the same length of time as smoking.

perhaps the stoney couch lock that comes after smoking weed is more pronounced in comparison to vaping though.

that's likely why i may have found it to not last as long.. it misses that feeling.

Network - I just read another article about the situation saying that the stories were propagandized and that the director of toxicology at the hospital said "we are absolutely not saying that marijuana killed the child." The article goes on to say that the director went on to explain "that it is worth studying the possible relationship between cannabis and the child's cause of death, myocarditis, or inflammation of the heart."

The kid was only 11 months, so his LD50 would be substantially lower than a full grown adult or even adolescent. It's crazy that they even found cannabis in the system of a child who wasn't even a year old.. poor kid sounds like he had some terribly irresponsible parents.

PM - Yeah I wish there was more concrete evidence about the subject. Right now it kind of feels like people are using circumstantial results as concrete evidence, sort of remind me of a wine tasting panel.

I personally loved preloaded vape cartridges though. Used to carry one with me at all times lol.

11 months isn't even that young tho.

We have had 2 month old medical marijuana patients successfully treated here in Colorado.

lol what do you consider young??

There is a difference between a child or infant receiving a recommended dose of cannabis for a specific illness and a child eating some random edible left out.

I'm trying to avoid getting high every day, if for no other reason than to keep my tolerance from skyrocketing. It's so temping to get high every day though lol

yeah thats my goal, but when you've got a stash that smells like gods vagina, its so fucking hard.

i made a new batch of edibles with some new coconut cannaoil (2 oz of homegrown outdoor buds). I thought I fucked up and ruined it somehow, because first sampling I puked that night.

I think its actually just a super strong batch, and i got so high i puked.

I 100% agree, I look for that couch-lock feeling and it's mostly a strong head high with this oil pen. I have to hit it a good 4-5 times in a row to get couch locked and it doesn't last that long. Could be my tolerance...
