I would say why Trump was elected is (a) a lot of people disliked Hillary and (b) Trump gave answers that were short and simple. Build a wall, kick out illegals, and remove Obamacare, put up trade barriers. Then all of our problems would be supposedly fixed.

I had actually asked about that last week! I asked whether his family members would stay in politics.
I raised an issue of having a 'clean', 'well behaved and respectful' person as a president I think his daughter could be quite presidential. Just for a moment try to imagine Trump without having said all the BS, lies, exaggerated and contradictory messages. Erase the bigotry and the childish behavior- you come up with someone with his same ideas but without the temperament (shown in public).
Everyone in his family is getting a taste of power that money can't buy. They won't be viewed as a bunch of non-experienced people- since working in politics regardless of your roll, make it difficult to others to say "they have no idea." Besides Ivanka is dicreet, polite, clever than her father. And I believe US will soon elect a woman as a president. Once the US elected Trump, everything is possible.

To play devil's advocate...I often think the blatant lies help trump because half the country (not just his base) believes whatever he says in the momemt he says it.
Also the out in the open racism helps him my opinion. These qualities inanka lacks and won't appeal to the disadvantaged out of work white laborers in the same way

It will happen to any and all candidates that do not tow the party line, which today means be a corrupt warmonger that panders to Wall St and corporate interests. Nobody is holding the DNC accountable (this recent lawsuit tried to) so they will continue to fuck you all while you ignorantly cheer for them. Better wake up and demand change on the Left if you want to have a hope in 2020, and to have an actual democratic process in the US.

You're right, Trump is the culmination of a bunch of symptoms implying a pretty dire disease in American, and global politics. But, at the end of the day, the people who voted for Trump share the lions share of responsibility.
For me, I don't believe that disliking and opposing Trump means that you are tacitly supporting the Democrats, who are suffering a similarly dire cancerous problem. Furthermore, the DNC lost the election. Its futile blaming the people who no longer wield power.

Their colossal fuckup is what allowed Nuclear Hitler into the White House in the first place, and theirs is the only party that could possibly stop The Donald from a subsequent 4 years in 2020 -and you do not wish to hold them accountable to recognize and make sure they've fixed their problems? Why should anyone support the DNC and contribute to candidates if they just stated in court that they were legally allowed to screw you? If they do not address this problem eventually the truth will become known and they may face mass boycotts.
