yeah, he's certainly burning a lot of bridges, and it seems that it will have to reach critical mass sometime soon - but it's hard to know how it will play out.

i guess i'm more concerned about the social divides and hostilities he has helped foster. those sorts of wounds can take a long time to heal.

^ from his speech on election night:

"I will be President for all Americans"

"To those who have not supported me in the past, I reach out you for your guidance"

not so much :\

his supporters say they like him because he's not a politician. talk about delusion.

That's true. We've had a rough history. But when I think about living in the former USSR and lots of other places, the comparison seems ludicrous.

We have these nuts that play dress up with automatic weapons. I'd love to time warp them into the Ardennes in '44. They would be crying for their mothers in a heartbeat.

Justice Ginsburg said politics is like a pendulum, constantly correcting its direction. I just hope the string doesn't break.
Maybe from time to time in constitutional republics bad presidents have to test the citizenry and their capability of discerning truth and executing justice. Thomas Jefferson wrote that revolution and rebellion is heathy to the cause of liberty. I pray for my people, world please pray for us too

I've been busy literally MAGA'ing really fucking hard so hope everyone is having a great summer!!!

hmmm.....

It really appears at times that you are openly and unabashedly hoping for some crisis upon the USA so long as Trump looks incompetent, as site admin I question my membership....

he also made an immediate repeal and replace of obamacare one of the central policies of his campaign. we all know what happened there. total lack of leadership on his part and dismal failure. another broken campaign promise.

You truly deserve a career as a talking head on CNN

I wish it was as easy as just griping in an online drug forum to affect any aspect of politics.

pssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh

Does it upset you when I speculate?

Yes anyone within a mile of anyone of opposite thought that Trump is a racist nazi that will ensure nuclear winter will get you banned, or put under relentlessly inquisition, while you offer logic in exchange for more non-responses, they think in a binary way, they pick and fester on typos don't waste your energy, fuck em'.

I am concerned about Trump, starting with Foreign Policy, Environmental important issues he's not following up.

I suppose it's easier to have a straw man than take responsibility as a human for the fact that we are beyond flawed and doomed as a species.

trump has escalated every single theatre of war the USA is involved with.

You are surprised, in a way that needs stating, how?????

^ his supporters don't care :(

yup we're all thoughtless monkeys that identify as a donkeys, that voted republican.

Dave responding to something I said said:
pssssshhhhhhhhhhhhh

What can I say to that? Dave in his eloquence did what no amount of spewed carbon dioxide and carpal tunnel by the finest minds this generation could not: convince me that Trump is NOT the joke candidate who accidentally won.

But seriously, Dave, you're attacking one of your own up there, which means you need to slow down on your reading, take some time with the posts.

======

cduggles, did he officially pardon Arpaio? Ok he did, your telepathy works.

I'd say that he might as well put a hood on after that, since it's not like Arpaio was ever going to spend a day in jail at 85 years old, and with everyone knowing he'd be murdered after just a day outside PC.

It's also interesting because charges are about being in contempt of FEDERAL law, so is Trump also making a statement about his own executive branch?

THen I realized those are assuming political motives, and Trump really just:

Thinks Arpaio's cool
Wants to use some "Powers"
Knows Arpaio goes on TV a lot
Desperately wants someone to say something really great about him.

Meanwhile he's pardoning Law Enforcement who violate Federal Orders, which is not a good thing whatever your politics.

^ Exactly.

I suppose it's easier to have a straw man than take responsibility as a human for the fact that we are beyond flawed and doomed as a species.
.

You know pretty well what I meant. The man doesn't have what's required. It's very simple. And you have gotten that by now.. "flawed and doomed as a species" seriously? Lol

no skin off my nose if you want to totally misread my posts.
the crisis has already happened - you've got a very unwell person heading your government

When Obama pardoned people or used executive orders he would have lawyers spend months examining every angle and he would have qualifiers like the person already having served their sentence and having spent at least 5 years serving already. None of this matters to the Trumpists because they are part of a cult that doesn't believe in facts. They think that Obama was super Muslim communist in chief dictator for life who did everything in his power to destroy America so anything that Trump does is justified.

But you know what I'm actually glad Trump won. People where getting too comfortable thinking that because we elected a black president everything is okay now. America is a nation of imperial fascist bigots and they have their moronic leader in. But the best part is he barely implements any policies because he's like an old woman that spends his time obsessing about the media. Much better than a neocon that actually gets things done and pays lip service to human rights.

Sure, in ways he's better than the W admin, especially if you happen to be a dead Iraqi.

But I worry the "lesson" of his failure will be lost on the new alt-media audience and he'll just be another Truther/Birther/Sandy Hook False flag/Illuminati/Big foot hero to a crowd that's turning out to be way too big. All he'll have to do is endorse some other idiot. Maybe I should tweet him and tell him how bigly his hands are and I'll get the nod.

^oh he'll probably get another 4 years in because the opposition has learned nothing or rather they want to keep the status quo running.

The people he inspires are at most 30% of the population and that's being extremely generous more likely it's 15%. We still outnumber these imbeciles. But people are sick of the system and they don't want this shit anymore. If the democrats run Kamala Harris, Hillary, Biden or whatever neo liberal dipshit we are in trouble. I really hope Bernie runs again and wins as he would have if he ran against Trump, but even he's not a real solution. But I'm not sure if I have the guts for what will happen if we go full accelerationist and the right and Trump both win in 2020 and fill the supreme court with monstrous conservative shitheads. We will have no choice but to finally kill capitalism. I don't know if we can survive since the 1% would rather burn it to the ground than let the common people be free and have real liberty.

Well that's a little extreme, or I'm too high to want to picture that. The DNC still has two years to field some candidates. I think Hillary, Biden and Bernie will be too old and passe. Really, it's what the fuck does it take to get enough people souring on him? He's only still in because the GOP thinks it's not right to remove him yet. And they're listening to their bases.

I think, did people not live through the eighties? You'd get beaten out of middle school if you talked admiringly about Russia then. He makes no sense for the evangelicals. Does he have to eat a baby on live TV?

They'd say it was a trick of the lyingliberallegacymedia.

Unfortunately, Bernie was already too old (77 y/o) last year, around that age and I don't think Hillary will ever campaign for President again. She missed her chance, but I wonder about Obama. I have followed his brilliant first campaign and I really like him, although as everyone else I disagree with few things which is totally natural. To think he started in the middle of one of the worst recessions in US and still made a great government, elected two terms, historic appoval rates.

I hope the country understands that Trump may have had his momentum but it's over now. The country is divided, there are no real Environmental issues anymore. Forget about diplomacy, he acts like he's either 8 years old or 88. And he's so explosive, immediatist, so to speak. His lack of deeper knowledge and impatience is making quality life in US worse every month IMHO.

^This is the kind of attitude that led to Trump in the first place oh no he couldn't possibly win people aren't that dumb... surprise they are! People want change. Even I succumbed to the siren song of Trump for a little while because Hillary was that bad...

All hope is not lost, Bernie could run for one term or run with a vp who he will hand the reigns off too, someone like Elizabeth Warren. But I still think these people are nothing but band-aids for the failure of capitalism. In European society our far left socialists are centrists who lean to the right. It doesn't matter anyways. The real point is the policies. I don't give a shit about Bernie, I care about his policies. Most voters don't care about the cult of personality thing they want jobs, security, social stability. Things that capitalism will never offer.

I'm not sure people want change. Politics is boring to most people, and I think that's good. It should stay boring.

People don't want change as much as entertainment, and a lot of them think Trump is actually funny.

This is true in times of stability. As long as we have the electoral system you're fucked. Flyover state are where jobs and society are a fucking shithole and always will be now that capitalism is at the end stage. Not that I blame them they're reaching out for anything. Most of them don't give two fucks about racism, safe spaces, Trump, whatever. I can't really fault them too badly for rejecting Hillary. The redneck morons exists in every state.

Point being I don't think it's all entertainment. That might be true for the main voters but the edge that actually ends up making the decisions care more about their income.
