...Hillary Clinton, someone who literally lies more than Trump...
another claim. care to back it up?
how would one go about objectively measuring whether one politician told more lies than another? well, there are people who track that kind of thing. e.g.
Comparing Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump on the Truth-O-Meter
it's tempting to just rest my case there. if you compare the percentages for true+mostly true and mostly false+false+pants on fire you get:
clinton
true+mostly true: 50.34%
mostly false+false+pants on fire: 26.19%
trump
true+mostly true: 17.02%
mostly false+false+pants on fire: 70.40%
not even close.
that's our 45th president. a man for whom 70% of what comes out of his mouth is
at best mostly false. that's your guy.
but you're probably going to dismiss this as a source because it unequivocally proves you wrong. is politifact objective? can anybody be truly objective? it's hard to know. if you read their process (
Our process: The Principles of PolitiFact, PunditFact and the Truth-O-Meter) it would certainly seem to indicate that they care about veracity. if you think they're not objective, maybe you could pick out a couple of items they have rated and demonstrate why their rating is incorrect?
i guess it comes down to who you choose to believe. some more reading:

If you're outraged by Hillary Clinton's 'lies', take a look at Donald Trump's (you should definitely read this as you are outraged)

How the heck can voters think Donald Trump is more honest than Hillary Clinton? (don't even bother reading this one. it's obviously fake news)

Is Donald Trump more honest than Hillary Clinton?
and on. and on. and on.
that last link is interesting. i have a great deal of respect for the quality of the writing at the cs monitor. an excerpt from that last piece:
However, I think a third factor is at play here. For many Trump supporters, his trustworthiness and honesty is not measured by how factually correct his statements are. Instead, it is better gauged by his willingness to speak candidly about issues...
i think that's tragic.
i get it liquidmethod. you feel that you've informed yourself from different sources, have been objective, and have concluded that trump's a solid guy doing a good job. i can totally respect that's your position. i also think it's disappointing and a little sad that you can't extend the same kind of courtesy to people who disagree with you.
so you can agree with his position on things like immigration and healthcare. you can think that his saying it's ok to sexually assault women because he's a big tv star is not a big deal. you can be fine with the fact that he doesn't give a shit about this beautiful planet.
but don't say he's not the worst liar. because then you sound like an idiot.
