You Right Now.......

3 hours? Wow, he's becoming like Bruce Springsteen with his sets.

Agree on Warren Ellis - I've seen The Dirty Three quite a few times and the guy is a freak.

Ran out of OCB's today. No way I'm doing a 500km round trip to buy some, so smoking the bong for first time in aaaaaages.

Better bang for buck, less pleasurable delivery for me.

Slightly concerned.

I'm not a teacher though I kind of am. I'm given a couple of handful of kids each year to try and improve their, let's face it, grades first and behaviour second. I got the job because of some success that was noted in the past. I have my own methods. Those who know me from here can guess my methods aren't traditional.

Today I was being praised for helping raise the grades of half a dozen kids. When the praise was over I continued with my work, talking to a couple of 'difficult' kids. I only get the 'difficult' kids. Part of what I do is straight no bullshit talking. And yes, I swear with the year 11s. I also talk politics when appropriate, its part of my curriculum, a big part. But I don't talk liberal shit. Basically, one minute I'm being praised by someone, the next minute another teacher appears out of nowhere (from behind, probably 'spying' on me) and starts talking about my inappropriate behaviour. I have no idea what he heard. I do know I was trying to feed a right-wing breitbart student some different ideas that involved vigorous discussions on the nature of anarchy and non-pacifism. It's the first time I've been pulled up on this. Basically the kids told him they were fine and we often speak like this. He wasn't that convinced. If he reports what I said I could be in deep shit. I wish I knew exactly what he heard. Fucking right-wing engineering teacher who shouldn't have been there in the first place. I have to wait and see. Bollocks, shit, fuck.

Shm, imo you've got absolutely nothing to worry about as you have everything on your side. It's odd to see you shaken in the slightest. You really do love those kids. That's amazing and obvious to see.

You've got accolades on your side from parents, teachers and most of all the backing of your students. This guy walked in on a conversation with out any context. Anything can be imagined when taken out of context. If you have this open banter with these kids then of course it makes sense when someone so young takes a hard stance to the left or the right. The flip side is to offer an intelligent argument on the opposite side.

As I say, imo, you've absolutely nothing to worry about.

My son has become far right wing until we bring up politics then he softens quite a bit and learns a bit more about all the other aspects he's not seeing going by his main source of info.

Woke up this morning with a really painful back for like the first time ever in life. Hurts when I move it certain ways, guessing its something to do with the way I slept.

So having a midweek CWE as a treat. :D

@SHM. As Sadie said, the fact that you're concerned about this is quite disconcerting. Hopefully your track record will get you through this, but never underestimate the depths a slug in a suit will plumb to discredit a perceived rival. I know I'm assuming a lot here, but I reckon I know his type. Good luck mate...

You giving those kids some anti-fascist education?
Were you challenging the lad's ideas, or trying to find common ground?

I had to deal with four years worth of engineering teachers/lecturers, they were total pricks.

Just in my personal experience and all that, obviously.

Liches in Rotterdam, soldier demons, should I go on.... F.U.B.A.R i would be interested to meet you sometime...

Just watched the most epic tennis. Federer into the Australian Open Final. Hope he wins it. Nicest man in sport and such a good player to watch.

Think i might roll a wee spliff and combine with a couple of valium and oxy. Need to unwind. Watching that tennis was stressful

Sipping a dirty martini in a tall glass, topped up with soda water. Makes a nice long drink, and you can sip martinis all morning this way without passing out! Highly recommended.
