Yeah, different Andy Bell. He left Ride, as a guitarist, and joined Oasis as bassist. All while writing a right wing column for the Sun.

I was always in love with Mark Gardner of Ride. Until (and you can probably still YouTube this) hard up for money he went on a solo tour of the world playing acoustic Ride songs. Dreadful (and this guy was my hero) does not begin to describe it. And then Ride fucking reformed. Not a big fan of reformations.

Final trivial Ride fact. They gave great, legendary parties in Oxford while selling records. Gave loads of drugs away. Probably why everyone except the Oasis-bound Bell ended up skint.

Gotta love bands who altruistically supply drugs. Deee-Lite practically started the rave scene in America by doing the same thing.

Disc 2 from this. It's no where near as good as Eddie was immediately post Y2K but it's the first proper digital bosh I've waxed since b4 Christmas and I already have faceache from grinning to fuck

EDIT: could really do with a classic Scott Project now to increase the peace but i've lost my ext hd with all his mixes and the utoob sound just doesn't cut it

Listening to Midnight Oil Head Injuries album. The greatest Aussie band, the best live band i have ever seen and i have seen them 17 times...never less than jaw dropping amazing and in my opinion their best album. Very Australian but worth a listen. On my phone so i cant linky.

Your Ride facts do not disappoint, Sirrah! Did not know any of that and am a little shamefaced at not clocking the Oasis connection cos it seems the kinda thing that I would know. Every day a schoolday, eh?

Good bonus Dee-Lite fact too. Had that album but never knew of their luuuurve-spreading ways.
 
Miles Davis - Porgy and Bess


Saw La Liminanas last night and they were great. Six piece, garage/surf band with a massive sound from the south of France. Highly recommend catching them if you get the chance.
