2016 American Presidential Campaign

Clinton is playing strategy. Which is smart.
Trump is being... Trump... Which is very very effective for a certain portion of the public, most of whom were already republicans. And it's what got him the nomination. Problem is he's still being trump and his only apparent strategy is his delusions that his fanatic base is much larger than it really is.

Trump has two things going for him.
1. He's not Clinton.
2. He's not a politician.

Both of those wielded effectively could be very powerful. But I think trump thinks he's smarter than his political advisors and strategists and isn't listening to them. And I think he will lose because of it.

In my opinion, if trump were better at political strategy, he would drop all personal attacks and threatsagainst Clinton and shift towards a more positive message. Tell people that he respects Clinton as his opponent for president, but keep reenforcing how much of a career politician it is. At the same time, separately, enforce a message that career politicians have ruined this country and the country needs a president they'll think for himself. And that that person is him. Let people remember why they don't trust Clinton and keep reenforcing what appeals to people about him, but in a way that will work to win the presidency rather than the nomination. And absolutely do not insult Clinton or bring up bills affairs or anything like that.

All it looks like is more childish whining "wha mom the moderators weren't fair to me" "wha she was involved in sex scandles first!". Shit like that. It's just making the problems with his own scandle more memorable and believable.

And absolutely DO NOT threaten to see Clinton jailed. One uniting force among both sides of politics is both tend to support their own ideas about what the constitution and what America means to them. And while both sides have different interpretations, the thought of a president locking up people he doesn't like (and even if he didn't say that, that's how it's remembered) is highly unappealing to the moderates of both sides.

You won't get an argument out of me. I agree with everything you have said for the most part. If trump would just stfu and listen to his brilliant campaign manager, kelly Anne Conway, he would win this election. But of course he has to get out there and un tactfully blabber about nonsense, further pushing away independents. It is painful to watch bc Hilary Clinton is a corrupt puppet that will damage this country far more than trump could in four years, believe me. Those SCOTUS picks are crucial.
 
Backing out of the debate would not normally be a good move. But trump just can't seem to control himself and stay on point. Clinton details him every time. So maybe he would be better off not doing it.

I suspect he will do it though, because i think trump massively overestimates his ability. He is a man I suspect is very used to being surrounded by yes men and subordinates who he can take the pleasure of firing if they say something he doesn't like. And he just isn't used to being in a political debate where he can't do it. It's out of his element and arena where not being an experienced poltician like Clinton puts him at a disadvantage. However I'm not sure he even really appreciates that's the case.

He'd have to have experienced competent political strategists and campaign managers, but I've been wondering for a while if he isn't simply ignoring them when they tell him he's making the wrong moves. He's probably not used to being told that, and his way did actually work to get him the nomination. But that as then, he's in the major leagues now and it what will win the nomination won't automatically win the presidency.
 
Yep I agree with all that as well, except I think trump won the last debate. Only because he got in a bunch of things that needed to be said, on such a large stage. Of course she is better at debating she has been doing it for 30 years. He absolutely does the last debate and does more of the same. I thought at first, that he could not learn or get better at it, but it appears he has to a certain degree. Hopefully wiki leaks drops a photo of Hilary eating a fetus, bc that is what we need for the dumb ass masses.

Even then Trump and his supporters are so low energy I doubt he could get elected even with the fetus evidence. Sad.
 
lol Trump has some of the highest energy I have ever seen! the man is pure energy. Last I saw Hilary, she was getting chucked into a van like a side of beef :\

He's probably going to lose Arizona which is super low energy for a Republican.
 
Remember polls are there to shape opinion. The LA times poll has him up by 2. He is leading in OH and in creeping back up in all major state polls. The media is in melt down mode bc nothing seems to be sticking, and it is getting harder and harder to ignore Hilarys public and private positions on things made clear by wikileaks.

You think he won the last debate because he literally pandered to people like you. His goal was not to get thrown off the Republican ticket and I guess he succeeded so he did win?

The only time he tried to cater to independents was by constantly saying Bernie's name which wasn't very smart. Bernie might not like Hillaries judgement but he disliked Trump enough to endorse her over him.

I don't think Hillary did a good job either but that's probably because she has no charisma.

hahaha the tracking poll that has tracked the same people since the beginning? It's not a bad poll in and of itself but you realize it's only one poll and you have to adjust for it with every other poll, right?

Creeping back up in the polls too is normal as the election gets closer people make up their minds more but the polls adjust for this.

Let me guess 538 and Nate Silver with all their science and math are biased and fronting a fake narrative, right?
 
The best part about watching a low energy candidate with low energy policy and low energy supporters lose, like big losers..is how they try to convince themselves to the very end that it won't happen.
 
Polls are there to shape public opinion. End of story. At this point, if you beleive the leaked emails, there is so much collusion bt the main stream press and the DNC, there isn't a whole lot i believe.
Swim did just send buzzfeed a trump sexual harassment claim story. The best are the ones you string along till the very end. 4chan has a true grass roots thing going here!

He won only bc people have low expectations for him IMO.

He was right to call out Bernie. It has been proven that the Hilary camp worked with the DNC to screw Bernie out of the nomination. If you don't accept that then you are drinking the grape kool aid, bigly.
 
This is like 2012 all over again, with the GOP nominee diehard fans not believing the majority of the polls showing their candidate is losing, and instead hanging onto any poll that hints otherwise.

Right now, it looks like Trump would have to reverse the tide in all the following states to barely win:

  • Arizona
  • Iowa
  • Ohio
  • North Carolina
  • Florida
  • Nevada
  • Colorado

That's in increasing order of difficulty. In Colorado, the aggregate of polls have never put Trump ahead of Clinton. Nevada and Florida have mostly been for Clinton as well, but Trump has been in the lead a few times.

But Trump would have to win all of the above states. And not have a surprise upset in any other state that he's predicted to win.

Clinton really has to screw up to lose this election at this point.
 
Idk I never payed attention to past elections because both the candidates were the same. The polls and the media have been pretty bad at predicting tump from the get go, so I'm gonna stay positive.

I think this election is a complete game changer. Think about this, buzz feed just got thousands of rape claim submissions from 4chan. Donald trump has actually posted in r/thedonald. And Hilary called on a former aid at the ADL to declare Pepe the meme frog, a racist symbol, bc she is getting killed by online satire. This is a completely different landscape IMO. Trust in biased media is at an all time low, as they show their asses with their full on assault on the trump campaign.
 
if somebody is a douchebag and the media reports that, it doesn't make the media biased.

Lol the clintons and the Obamas hate each other. I swear these leaked emails are so interesting, you gain so much insight into the house of cards type situation the Clinton foundation has going. I read one today about Qatar giving WJC one million dollars for his birthday in 2011. "I'm with her" "and she's with the highest bidder" lmao

You guys must be doing hella mental gymnastics with these emails!
