EADD Heroin Discussion v. XXII -- Brucey Bonus Beetles all round!

For what it's worth, I managed some sort of sleep-like state last night by means of a lethal cocktail of 20 ml. Night Nurse, 10 mg. Diazepam, 400 ml. hot sweet milky cocoa (watch this stuff; it contains only just enough moisture to digest the protein in it, and will not satisfy a thirst) plus enough solid and weed to keep a small village happy for a fortnight (much of which was eaten, in the form of a hashburger).

.

used to love me some night nurse and drink it by the bottle.felt a bit like drinking the whole 500ml bottle of methadone-no intention to kill myself-just worried about when my next dose would be.also took 8,000mg quietapine with it(an anti psychotic).
talking of which, anyone on that shit beware, makes you gain weight like a whale.

Why not keep the stims to weekends only? x

Evey

Because that would be far too logical and sensible. Actually no im just being an idiot, in truth my stim use has been completely out of control for the last few months, and its only during the last fortnight or so that ive mostly cut stims out completely. It does help that i dont even particularly enjoy any of the UK legal stims atm, and currently generally only go on marathon sessions when i combine stims with GBL, which generally only happens about twice a month, cos those sessions usually lead to about 18 hours of non stop listening to music, and then trying in vein to find some new pr0n to wind down with when ive had my fill of music and just want to kill off some surplus energy whilst the GBL leaves my system, otherwise id never get to sleep. Though sometimes these binges can happen twice a week, generally though im not that often in the mood for 18 hours of non stop music and porn.

Apologies, this post has taken the thread completely off topic, but i guess the familiar theme of impulse control is as relevant in this thread as any.:\

There is 500 mg. paracetamol in 10 ml. Night Nurse these days, which is kind of a limiting factor even if you ignored the sugar content.

Now, I've known people shrug off paracetamol overdoses that according to all sources ought to have finished them off several times over. But I don't want to find out the hard way if or not I'm built that way .....

My pharmacist told me the other day a lad came in and asked was there anything he could give his mate as he had taken an overdose of paracetamol, my pharmacist told him he needs to phone an ambulance right that second, he said he was just looking some pro-plus to try and bring him around, my pharmacist said he wouldn't serve him until he phoned an ambulance at which he was apparently quite annoyed about having to do for his dying friend

"Awk it's only a wee paracetamol overdose, wind your neck in and quit your groans of pain"

That's the sad thing, people don't realise just how toxic it is in higher doses, especially when the damage takes 24 hours (or so/more) for it to rear it's head.

Wouldn't it be so much sweeter to live in a world where adults are trusted to consume 8mg of codeine without having to have 500mg of paracetamol with it (fair enough it helps in tandem, but we all know a decent dose of codeine is far more effective than 1g of paracetamol).

Could i rant anymore? probably, but i'm boring myself now.

bring back old school nurofen +.

It appears I've bought some heroin. Currently averaging just under half a g a month.

Paracetamol overdoses are a truely horrible way to die..

Probably the most common drug used in deliberate overdoses though since it can be bought so easily.

Having said that ...some of the bizzare things people try to "overdose" on would boggle your mind. Sometimes it's so bizzare you find yourself saying "you've taken what?"....."why would you do that?"

Paracetamol, I thought, had been called into question about its effectiveness as a pain killer. Next to useless, poison aside :)

Oddly enough, I have been told the same by a number of doctors of all specialties. Not exactly scientific research, but when three surgeons tell you they don't even bother with it for a headache...

Yeah, that's why I would much rather play it safe. I took three 500mg. tablets at one time once, when I was in really terrible pain; but I was younger and carrying about 15 kg. more in those days.

Not had a smoke since last weekend (and that was really microdosing, eking out the last of it as a kind of taper) yet I'm still getting dreadful night sweats. That was what was behind the decision to score that stash, really; I was over all the other symptoms from the last time.

Of course, it's possible for something else to have been causing the night sweats .....

Virtually useless apparently, placebo tests have shown. Don't take the shite myself... POISON.....

saying that,if you are in hospital and running a temperature, they give paracetamol as it is the most effective thing for relieving that symptom.Sometimes they will give you all the other painkillers they have and simple paracetamol can be the most effective.I have found with migraines, this to be the case.you just have to get them down you and keep them down for long enough to be able to have an effect before you start puking

It's effective as an antipyretic, it's more that the analgesia is poor and occurs just below clinical hepatotoxin levels.

Clonidine is ideal for that Julie.

Incidentally IV paracetamol seems pretty effective. Have that at work although TBH I've never bothered using it. 10mg IV morphine stops most pain in most people. Then give them an entanox bottle to suck on and (usually) they're sorted :)

Clonidine?

Decent nutrition, sufficient hydration, a decent fan and a hot cup of tea is surprisingly effective and much less addictive than more smack or a handful of benzo's.
Low doses (~12mg+) of Loperamide always helped when countering physical WD symptoms due to hitting the peripheral receptors IME.

Yeah clonidine.

Its ideal for hot flushes and sweats caused by excessive adrenal output (ie. Withdrawls).

Clonidine isn't addictive either although maybe some rebound high blood pressure if used for a long time....I used it for a year and stopped CT with no probs though.

Its surprisingly effective.

Any idea if clonidine is OTC in the US? They always act like it's so easy to come across for opiate WD.

Not OTC but AFAIK is handed out by the handful in the US for a vast array of conditions and so is much more available than over here.

Uberdoses of Valerian extract could help given the impact on GABA and adenosine.
Though don't expect miracles or really much of all, my experience was of complete inactivity as a sedative but didn't pay any attention to potential for reducing night sweats.
