Suicide
Jim Carroll Band
The Saints
The Slits
Johnny Thunders

Brody's cool shit...
Been to a few Distillers shows in Toronto back in the day.
Spinnerette in '09 @ Call The Office in London, Ontario was the last time I seen her play.

I was always more of a death metal fan, but after being in the east bay for a while, I've been listening to the misfits and DK and my friend got me into Turbonegro, also as a native new yorker gotta represent the good, the bad and the leftover crizzzack.

And of course I love Iggy and the Stooges, The Heartbreakers, Sex pistols, all good shit.

man this album is fucking awesome- I had previously listened to poison idea's Kings of Punk album and found it too abrasive which is weird since I love death metal, but after listening to FEeel the Darkness I'm going to give it another shot.

I went to some punk shows in Boston as a teenager. I go in expecting GG Allin I believe in anarchy shit popping off and I get feminism communism save the whales type shit. Bunch of hippies dressed even worse.

FSU was a good movement, I don't know if it's still around but these kids need the smack laid down.

I've always considered punk rock an attitude or philosophy than a sticker-stamped genre label. The music of course will reflect these values, but it's what always drew me to punk, anything goes. You can be Sonic Youth or you can be the Bad Brains, it's all punk. I would even consider precursors to what we now call "punk rock" like the MC5 or Brain Box to be punk rock, maybe even further, Johnny Cash was a punk rocker decades before the term had even been articulated.

lol. I think you have a very distorted understanding of what "anarchy" means in a punk context.
Listen to some Crass - the embodiment of anarcho-punk.
Feminists and all.
Spent a great deal of time baiting misogynists and the conservative establishment and subverting macho rock bullshit.
