Apologies, I had further time to read the newcomers rules and etiquette and realized referring to myself as friend is entirely unnecessary.

I appreciate your input! I am more curious about the relationship of Kratom to more traditional opiates. I haven't taken anything other than Kratom for probably 9 months or so, so will a Kratom tolerance translate directly to a tolerance to traditional pain medications? I know they act on similar receptors but aren't exactly the same chemically (keep in mind, my knowledge of this is very limited). What I am worried about is if either during the surgery, or post-op I will have adequate pain control and if during the surgery the general anesthesia will be as effective given that I've only been off for 2 1/2 weeks.

1.How many hours of analgesia does one get from kratom? 2.How many hours does it keep WDs away from one dose? Anybody care to share an educated guess on this? Thanx! My guess is 6 hours analgesia and 20 hours withdrawal relief.

I'm not too experienced with Kratom at all, have only used it for a few days when I was waiting to get on buprenorphine, and it was head shop stuff that got the job done but I imagine for most 'versed' users, would be considered shit. I'm now on suboxone, but I've read that at lower dosages Kratom acts as a stimulant rather than as an opiate. My question is does the stimulant property come from the metabolites of kratom acting upon a different receptor that isn't opiate related, or is it just giving you the speedy effect that some opiates tend to produce (thebaine derivatives IME, hydro, oxy, etc.)? I ask because I am considering getting some Kratom but I don't want to waste any money if the Buprenorphine will block all effects of it (though I have heard on multiple forums, Bluelight and otherwise that some people seem to still get the opiate effect from kratom while on suboxone too, but I don't know how thats possible unless it has a higher binding effect at the mu site, granted I don't understand how the brain works as well as I wish I did, so maybe it is possible).

How long does it takes for the withdrawal symptoms to appear after your last dose?

I'd also like to know what are your first symptoms (runny nose, insomnia or perhaps a lack of motivation, ect...)

The only things I notice of I'm using daily then once I stop about 24-60 hours I have fatigue, not as bad as withdrawning from daily Vicodin use, but enough to be a nuscance

After 60 hours I'm pretty much back to normal.

Very much like a typical opiate withdrawal for me, just not as severe

The feel good effects last about 2 hours tops for me as well..the analgesic effects last around 4-5 hours..as far as keeping away withdrawals, not sure but I've heard it keeps them at bay for 4-5 hours

Hey all--
I'm new here so forgive me if this post is naive, but I have some questions about Kratom. I've tried 5 different strains now from different companies at different doses and feel nothing like what I've read about. Here's my question: I had weight loss surgery 3 months ago, so my actual stomach is now tiny. Could this be part of why I'm not feeling the Kratom? Or would that have nothing to do with absorption? In the beginning mostly fatigue but now I start getting the chills/sweating after about 24 hours. Then the insomnia and night sweats start to set in then anxiety, irritability, sneezing, increased back pain followed by more of the same. About 4 days my symptoms are mostly if not completely gone.

I think the withdrawal from this relies heavily on how much you use each day

Most people that are experiencing heavy longer withdrawals are taking WAY more than I do....I do maybe 1-2 tbs a day

When i was physically addictd to kratom 40-60 grams per day dosing about 6 times a day 8-10 grams per dose of high wuality kratom withdrawls kicked in immediately when i woke up the next day. Feeling like i have a fever was the first feeling then feeling extremwly hot and cold and sweating, followed by depression and no motivation to do anything and no energy then about 3 days before i can sleep and 2 weeks before all of these symptoms went away ive been at this point about 4 times now and have quit over and over and im abot a month clean now except for 1 or 2 songle slip up doses through that month, the fever feeling stuck around longer than any symptom and i still cant sleep without 50 mg diphenhyramine every night and other techniques to get myself to relax its really a bitch of a withdrawl but better than hydrocodone withdrawls and it helped me get off of those. But be careful with it. Its not a harmless plant.

Wow, 40-60 grams is pretty high. I just stuff mine in 00 capsules. I fill about 12 capsules, about 14 at the most or it starts to get uncomfortable. It sucks swallowing all those pills. Then I drink hot tea to help them dissolve. I just ordered some Bali premium powder because I woke up hurting. I don't know if it's benzo withdrawal starting or what.

Bali is the only strain I deal with. It's consistent. The place I order from has ridiculous shipping prices now though. It keeps getting higher. The price of the kratom is way higher too. That's why I only order 4 ounces now. It's just annoying when you notice how something catches on with the masses and prices go up.

For the health fanatics out there, u can rest easier as I had full blood panel tests ran last week..everything came back fine and I've been using kratom and other substances for quite awhile. Lol

00 capsules are big enough, I didn't realize 000 even existed! Holy crap. You'd have to take 1 at a time or you'll choke for sure.

I always try to get the vegetarian capsules instead of gelatin. Gelatin is thicker and unhealthy I believe.

Got my package today and the Bali kratom came with a free sample of "Elephant" kratom. I never even heard of that one before. I'll give it a go. It's only 5 grams so I might combine it with Bali for a larger amount. Or maybe I'll try it on its own first and see if I feel anything.

They are probably using 30+ grams daily, my daily amount was a third of that (sometimes more). Hell even when I was taking kratom daily and using PST on top for a month I didn't have it that bad other than the other opiate w/d symptoms were much worse.

Once you get used to swallowing them it gets easier I can easily swallow two at a time now.
