What's Good on European and African TV v. Walking the Dead

Hey Raiders of the lost Ark is on BBC1 right now. Started at 1.45pm so we've only missed 20mins so far.

The Man In the High Castle, on amazon prime at the moment. TV adaptation of the original Philip K Dick novel, I've watched the whole series and it is absolutely brilliant.

I originally dismissed the trailers/adverts on tele as I saw it was amazon prime, but last night I paid more attention to one and it seemed like it could be interesting. I'll give it a go now I've heard something positive.
 
What's Luther like? I know it's not new, but I've never watched any of it and I hear good things, I was considering making it my next thing to feast on.
 
this show is AMAZING, only zombie show that puts money and effort in their show. the story line is great and the flashbacks that connect everything together is put together perfectly i give the show 5/5

Allow me to redress the balance there. ;)

We stopped watching "The Man In The High Castle" after three episodes, because we would rather have our eyeballs poked out with a rusty spoon than watch another 12 hours of that turgid, nonsensical bullshit. Honestly, I fucking love Dick* - I can't get enough of Dick*, I love stuff about Nazis, and I love alternate history stuff (especially about Nazis), so I went into it thinking I was gonna love every second of it. Boy, was I fucking disappointed. :(

Also, this annoyed the fuck out of me:

Low-ranking Nazi thug: "Yes, Obergruppenführer, no Obergruppenführer, three bags fucking full Obergruppenführer"

The rank of Obergruppenführer is equivalent to a fucking 3 star General. There's no way someone of that rank would be getting involved in low level trivial shit. Also, they're in the US, where English is their first language. So they would call him "General", not fucking Obergruppenführer as if they were in Germany. My position on this issue is backed up by the following inconsistency: in one episode, an SS Captain is addressed as "Captain". If they insist on calling the big bad boss "Obergruppenführer", then the aforementioned Captain should really have been addressed as "Hauptsturmführer".

This kind of shit really ruined this programme for me. And did I mention that it was really fucking boring too?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention:

Has anyone else watched the American comedy "You're The Worst"? Two seasons. Hilarious and extremely sick. I heartily recommend it.

On a similar note, "Catastrophe" is also excellent.

Ah man that's a shame. It is a bit harrowing and a bit slow at the start. Read the book, you will enjoy it a lot more.
 
Watching 'The Weapon Hunter' on Quest..... Some very interesting cannons but fuck me that presenter is annoying...... Running around like a five year old after too much sugar.. I wish he would shut the fuck up... :)

Good programme that Englandgz. I watched a good episode last week I think it was where he was doing some old sniper rifle. Real interesting stuff.
 
I'm sure I've mentioned it before but Justified is well worth a watch. Highly underrated series. I've just started watching the final season.

Also been watching Scream Queens ... if you don't take it too seriously, it's a good laugh.

My friend recommended a new Netflix original cartoon called 'F is for Family'. After enjoying Bojack so much, I decided to give it a go. I must say I thought it was very funny and quite touching in parts. It's an adult cartoon set in the 70s, I'd definitely give it a go if you're looking for something funny to watch.

I also finally watched that Bob Weir documentary, called 'The Other One: The Long Strange Trip of Bob Weir', recently and I thought it was excellent. It had me in tears a few times. I think I'm becoming an annoying empath :|
 
I'm a bit late to the party, but I've just started watching Hannibal.

It's soo, soo good. I'm about half way through the first season at the moment. Mads Mikkelsen is like perfect for the role, certainly fills Sir Anthony Hopkins shoes adequately!

As an aisde, there are a couple of great shows to look forward to next month if I am not mistaken.

Netflix will be showing season 2 of Better Call Saul & the most important one, the X-Files will be aired on Channel 5 at some point. Can't wait. :D

Yeah I've enjoyed what I've seen of that so far. Guess I'll get round to finishing it off after Hannibal.
