Yeah I always preferred the mouse and keyboard. I've always been pretty average at FPS games but I remember playing the original PC BF2 to distract me from a mushroom trip that was becoming a bit challenging. I kicked ass so consistently! It may just have been a coincidence and I could have been on servers with other shite players that day.

I still haven't tried any online FPS that comes close to the old BF games on PC. The Forgotten Hope mod for BF1942 was cracker. The original BF2 was also class. I've never been able to get into COD, but I don't play too many games these days.

I tried getting into PC gaming when I was about 15, that PC ended up being used for MSN and bebo an shit, just never got into it prefer consoles. Have stop playing it on the reg for a while now, haven't ungraded yet to a PS4 or Xbox one, I do have both the older versions which just collect dust these days, although if am at mates or wherever and fifas about I will hand out a few spankins. In my teenage years/early 20s I would think nothing of putting COD on from about 6 at night and play right through to 6 in the morning, only drug id see was for gaming for me would have to be weed. Used to go on drunk sometimes, never shot a chance my ass would get shot rapid style, but the mouthful of abuse I used to give out where funny at the time to me, but people must used to think what a pure wank, well the people that at least understood my glaswegain accent.

These days I'm loving the "free" PS Plus games so much more than the full price AAA PS4 titles. Spelunky, Don't Starve, Road not Taken, Rogue Legacy, Binding of Isaac, all so much fun and have seemingly endless replay value.

What are you all playing these days?

Not long before Christmas I got a copy of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. Really great playing it again, FFX was the first game of that franchise I owned & played fully.

Harking back to even older days, I've just ordered myself...



Can't wait to play it... I actually still have my N64 but I'm really looking forward to seeing what it's like with the updated textures & 3D. Looks awesome from the video reviews I have seen... :D

I couldn't tell you how many times I have re-played that game. I think it will always stand out as a gaming masterpiece. Everything from the story to the soundtrack was so engrossing and memorable. I still get emotional when I play it

My introduction to that game basically involved watching my friend play through the game, with my contribution pretty much amounting to reading the guide & telling him what to do. If it had been any other game I'm sure I'd have complaining but even just watching Zelda was mesmerizing. Was all the better by the time I got myself an N64 to play it...

i have a couple of out of town friends who also have it and we play matches online. i'm pretty good sober but when i get high, i just get better and better. it sounds corny but i stop thinking about it so much and start playing more intuitively.

Yeh Zelda is one of all my all time favs's, I bought a 3ds just to play link between worlds and then sold it not soon after completing, I thought it was a really good merger of 2d and 3d. I sunk a lot of time into pc games, WoW and CS in my teen days and Socom 1 and 2 on the ps2,

Ive been addicted to this game since the first PGA on the Amiga. I recently got the new version (Rory 2015) for the PS4 and while im happy enough that it still has the superb game engine the title is not worth the money otherwise. Shit commentry, half the amount of courses that was in the Masters, if I hadnt managed to get a cheap copy on black friday I would have held on for a better version, still the main thing is my PGA addiction is satisfied for the time being and with no other decent PS4 golf titles beggars cant be be choosers I suppose

Need to get playing the ffx remake, not touched the game in a good eleven years but spent so much time on it back then. Seriously need to get Ocarina of Time too, loved it on N64 and haven't been that captivated by many other games before or since.

But yeah I'm playing Mario Kart 8 at the moment which is amazing when you're high, also got Wind Waker HD which I'm super psyched to play, is another one I spent hundreds of hours on in my teens. We also bought Guitar Hero Live but I'm really not that impressed with it, soundtrack ain't my thing (avril lavigne? rihanna? i like a bit of rihanna on occasion but not in my guitar hero) and it seems to suffer a bit from slowdown and a super unintuitive frontend, as well as setting off my motion sickness. Spent the weekend playing Warriors of Rock on the Wii instead.

You got a PS3 Dan? I only ever played DICE's played the bad company games when i had mine and the 360. I never played a 'normal' battlefield game until I got 4 for the PS4. Its single player campaign is proper cracking - Is there one on B3 - I was advised to avoid them on the last gen consoles as they seemed primarily designed for online play, which I havnt bothered with since my Xbox live expired about 4 years ago. Is it worth playing on its own or is it just for mulitiplayer?

Ive been really lazy over the festive period and just stuck to the Sports Games and Project Cars. I still have about 75% of Batman and GTA to get through before I get any more adventure games. I wouldnt mind getting that Uncharted Collection - I played through the first 2 on the Ps3 and I gather there is a fourth and final installment due out in the spring so now might be a good time to revisit the first 3.

I played WoW pretty obsessively when i was prescibed dex amphetamines for adult adhd. I would spend hours and hours each day raiding, farming, pvping, manipulating the auction house. I was just obsessed. I got into one of the top raiding guilds in Asia at the time. My whole life revolved around WoW. Glad i got off the dexxies and quit WoW as i was neglecting the real world. Bloody good game though.

I don't know what it is at the moment, but I'm getting so much joy out of re-visiting these franchises that were big in my early days of gaming. Brings back so much nostalgia.

I'm sure Mario Kart will be another game I will get at some point... had so much fun on the original...

It's strange you should mention the Guitar Hero-esque games... just seeing the chat about playing games on drugs brings back many memories of playing Guitar Hero World Tour on pre-ban Meph. The focus you'd get would be second to none, well except when eye wiggles made it hard to see what notes were coming next.

Also CODMW2... my best friend & I would hoof lines of Meph then do the spec ops co-op missions to get 3 stars, we managed most of them actually but it would have been impossible off stimulants.

I've actually got The Last of Us Remastered... only played like 20 minutes or so. Visually its pretty stunning and the story is interesting but I found it a bit slow to get into.

I keep meaning to go back & play it properly. I'm sure I'll love it when I get into it.

I've never got a platinum trophy... never paid trophies much attention on my PS3 although now I'm starting to consider going for my first platinum on FFX.

I would go for the GTA V one but to be honest, the online side of it puts me off. Although I used to play a lot of games online on my PC, I've never got into it much on PS3/4. Especially now you have to pay to play online. 8)

Rhythm games are so good on stims, never played much Guitar Hero on em but Beatmania was one we used to play for hours on end, as well as Donkey Konga of all things. Know what you mean about revisiting old franchises, though I've always been more into the older consoles so I'm a sucker for these kinda remakes. I've not actually played the original Mario Kart, or many of them aside from this one and the Wii one, but I think a lot of them are on the Nintendo store for download so gonna get em at some point.

Think I mighta mentioned it before but playing Journey on a low dose of 5-MeO-DALT and benzos was really fun, it fit really well with the dreamy psychedelic kinda mindset.
