Me neither, though since coming out I'm receiving a lotta' weird shite.
If this is what females deal with normally, I apologise on behalf of my gender. :(

In related matters, today a friend of mine publicly stated their choice to be open about their transition from physical male to female.
I was so proud.

I will state this and hopefully only have to state this once ( doubt it though )

You may get away with it in the lounge but we do not use the word Faggot in this sub-forum!

Keep it in check!

To me banning or censoring particular words is silly. Another word is so easily substituted that pretty soon you will only be allowed to communicate in grunts and raised eyebrows.

Just the way it is I'm afraid.I'm sure you'll go on to lead a full and fulfilling life with out using that word in EADD. In fact, I'm sure of it. Go on my son, take on the world!

Agreed. I'm not really a fan of banning someone unless they are spamming the shit out of the place. Far better to make them want to leave on their own accord than ruling membership with a stick.

To me it is a sign of weakness

AFAIK, our policy is that we allow the use of terms that many consider pejorative that are used to describe certain societal groups where there is context. We do not allow casual or aggressive/abusive use of those same terms where there is no obviously valid context. Yes this does mean we don't allow fully free speech but BL is not a democracy and all that and it's not just cos we like to piss on peoples' chips. We don't allow casual use of such terms as although obviously there are some who are not offended or threatened by such language many are and as we are a HR forum we certainly do not want to be losing potential posters seeking info and advice because they don't feel comfortable with such terms being used without good reason. Think that's site-wide policy now (even in the Lounge, no?) but it's certainly EADD policy. As ever, anybody who feels strongly about the matter is most welcome to bring it up in the Metathread but, in all honesty, this one's been done to death and is unlikely to be changing any time soon.

*insert linky to lounge here*

;)

I tend to agree when it comes to "the real world" but not in the context of a site like this. A policy of "if it offends you that's your problem" is fine in most situations but not useful for a website whose stated purpose is to provide info and advice for people who use drugs, have mental health issues - have a wide range of issues in fact. The simple fact of the matter is we don't want anybody to feel they do not feel comfortable of "safe" posting here.
