UK Driving Drug Test....

Police will be able to use "drugalysers" to screen for cannabis and cocaine at the roadside.

Officers will also be able to test for these and other drugs including ecstasy, LSD, ketamine and heroin at a police station, even if a driver passes the roadside check.

They need to blood test for lsd. Saliva testing is not possible for lsd. The active dose is too low and the half life too short for saliva to be a successful roadside test substrate. If you look like you are tripping balls they have the powers to detain you and conduct further tests back at the station of hospital. You'd be extremly unlucky to test for lsd the next day.
 
Says a bus driver was sacked because he'd got coke residue from bank notes, then touched his mouth and the coke had then been detected by a drug test.

A bus driver from Bristol who was sacked after testing positive for cocaine has won a substantial pay out by proving the drug came from bank notes handed over by passengers.
58-year-old Alan Bailes, had to take a saliva test after a complaint he was "under the influence of cannabis". He was dismissed by First Group for gross misconduct. Alan spent £440 on a more accurate hair follicle test with his GP which proved there had been no drugs in his system for 90 days.

So the bus company didn't do a follow up blood test? This is why the saliva tests are only a screening test, too many false negatives and positives.
 
Correct, the bus company sacked him after doing their own saliva test & no follow-up. He had to pay his own doctor to get a hair test, take the bus company to court & now he's won compensation.

It does sound a little far fetched tbh - unless he was licking all the notes he received :) Although many banknotes are claimed to contain minute traces of cocaine, how many people pay bus fares with notes? He would have had to have handled a fuckton of them to get enough in his system to fail a drugs test surely?
 
In London, no cunt pays a bus fare with a note because it's a cashless fucking system now. Can you believe that? It's one thing asking a minimum of two quid for a fare, quite another to say you need a swipe card to pay it.

Swipe cards are fucking awesome. I pay my fare for my bus to go from A to B as quickly as possible. I don't want the driver having to slow us down to issue fucking tickets and doll out change. There has to be some perks to living in the 21st century

I've now an image of a bus driver quickly licking the odd note ere n there like his christmases have come at once "Hey you (thinks, i know he does the odd coke) tenner please?! Fares just gone up...."

Maybe there was some other reason for a false positive, but he proved he hadn't taken drugs with a hair test & won compensation in court.

It was only a saliva test, they can detect minute traces in saliva, so maybe the story about touching banknotes & then touching his mouth (or food, whatever) could be true. It's an unreliable test that can produce false positives & negatives anyway.
