Your Favourite Quotes and Sayings

Do I have to smack your wrist every time you don't reference hmm?

That quote saddens me for you. xxx

I don't reference deliberately, in the hope that the curious investigate further. ;)

I'm sorry that quote saddens you, but it's how I've always been. I'm trying to be different now, as you know, but that book is still something special to me.

“Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”

Excellent quote Erik. That's me :|

Makes life hard for you though.... you'll understand :\ I used to get paid a lot of money to be like that then they couldn't handle me brought in a new 30 year old corporate dick boss who bullied n' triggered my mental health issue because he just didn't get it or me!

This threads will make me sad and I still have a sari to design n' stitch into a frock - 2 days to go :!

'Doesn't everyone just want to live an uncluttered life? -J. Garcia

I think any spiritual experience that's worthwhile is not about ego and it will humble you in some way. And also, a Zen monk once said to me, 'If you're not laughing, then you're not getting it.' - D. Russell

“You too are an exile, I thought. You mourn for the broad open steppes where you have room to spread your icy wings. Here you feel stifled and constricted, like an eagle that cries and beats against the bars of its iron cage.”

“Lock up your libraries if you like; but there is no gate, no lock, no bolt that you can set upon the freedom of my mind.”
Virginia Woolf

"The Universe is the Practical Joke of the General at the Expense of the Particular, quoth FRATER PERDURABO, and laughed.

But those disciples nearest to him wept, seeing the Universal Sorrow.

Those next to them laughed, seeing the Universal Joke.

Below these certain disciples wept.

Then certain laughed.

Others next wept.

Others next laughed.

Next others wept.

Next others laughed.

Last came those that wept because they could not see the Joke, and those that laughed lest they should be thought not to see the Joke, and thought it safe to act like FRATER PERDURABO.

But though FRATER PERDURABO laughed openly, He also at the same time wept secretly; and in Himself He neither laughed nor wept.

Nor did He mean what He said."

"I am like a love-sick courtesan of Corinth. I have toyed with kings and captains, and made them my slaves. Today I am the slave of the little asp of death; and who shall loosen our love?"

“You may not be her first, her last, or her only. She loved before she may love again. But if she loves you now, what else matters? She's not perfect—you aren't either, and the two of you may never be perfect together but if she can make you laugh, cause you to think twice, and admit to being human and making mistakes, hold onto her and give her the most you can. She may not be thinking about you every second of the day, but she will give you a part of her that she knows you can break—her heart. So don't hurt her, don't change her, don't analyze and don't expect more than she can give. Smile when she makes you happy, let her know when she makes you mad, and miss her when she's not there.”
Bob Marley

"O my darling, I also wait for the brilliance of the ineffable, when the universe shall be like a girdle for the midst of the ray of our love, extending beyond the permitted end of the endless One.

Then, O thou heart, will I the serpent eat thee wholly up; yea, I will eat thee wholly up."

Nisargadatta...
Wisdom is knowing I am nothing. Love is knowing I am everything, and between the two my life moves.

And cheat on her at every opportunity. I have loved Marley for a long time now but he was a massive dirt doer!

A woman's mind is cleaner than a man's: She changes it more often.

I really like this one.

I really like this one.

I didn´t know about the cheating, although I´m not at all surprised.

The second one is indeed very funny :)

“She looked like the kind of woman I could fall in love with. Trouble is, she was standing next to the kind of woman I’d like to make love to.

Jarod Kintz

Approved. :D

“My heart was tightening painfully, as it had after our first parting. Oh, how I was glad of this feeling! Could it be that youth wishes to return to me with its wholesome storms, or is this only its departing glance, its last gift, as a keepsake?”

“We survive on novelty, so much less demanding than commitment.”
