What a fucking rockin weekend I've been having.

Friday I took some LSD, one hit and it actually did me really nice, I didn't full-on trip but I was able to use it to break through some emotional/musical blockages I had built up as a result of doubting myself. I didn't sleep a wink Friday night and then Saturday morning I woke up and had the most beautiful, amazing energy. Our plan was to have a full-day recording session yesterday, we even slept over for it. It's been amazing outside, 70+ degrees yesterday and today, so while everyone else slept and I was awake still, I went on a mountain hike and rejuvenated myself. Then I came back and we started jamming, with the guitar player, bass player, and a different drummer (the one in most of the jams I've posted thus far). The very first jam was incredible and beautiful, and all of us pushed through the staleness we had been feeling. The energy I got afterwards was SO amazing. We jammed all day long and I still felt the energy from the LSD all day... in fact I still do a bit. I'm so glad we decided to just jam and not record, we all needed it. Unfortunately we didn't record the jams at all, I wish we had. At some point the guitar player was like, I want to learn a Stevie Ray Vaughan song. So I turned on a crazy awesome live version of Texas Flood. This motherfucker listens for like 1 minute and immediately starts busting out NOTE-PERFECT and STYLE-PERFECT Stevie licks. It was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen, I just watched his face as it contorted with weird movements and intensity, like Jimi's face does when he plays. No practice, no mistakes, he just heard them once and perfectly executed them. The best or one of the best guitar players in the world, legendary for his shredding, and this 23 year old dude in my band just... replicated it by ear alone, first try, it looked effortless. I actually firmly believe that this guy is one of the greatest guitar players of all time, and he's so young still. Now he knows a bunch of Stevie licks and we'll probably play Texas Flood at our next gig. After the song ended we all started jamming on it and it was... sublime.
Then later on I went out downtown for bar hopping with my friend who finally just broke up with his crazy girlfriend. We checked out boobs and asses and talked about stuff related to his feelings about the subject and had a really fun time. Went back to his place and I finally slept at like 3:30am... woke up at 10:30, and here I am, preparing to go for another hike with friends, still full of energy even after 5 hours of sleep in more than 2 days. I sometimes think I'm a mutant because I have so much energy. Gotta take advantage of this Spring-like weather.

I actually almost feels like summer today, it's crazy.
How are you all doing?
