Hi There! New person here with some questions that might possibly be dumb. A little background, I have stage 4 cancer so I have a ton of meds here at my home and my doctors write me prescriptions for meds pretty frequently. I've never used them recreationally, but that is what I'm looking into today. Doc gave me meds to calm my nerves (lorazepam/ativan). I started at .5 mg and doc upped my dose to 2mg per day, but I'm still a ball of nerves. I have other meds at my disposal, specifically dilaudid (4mg hydromorphone) and vicodin & vicodin ES (5 & 7.5mg/300mg). I just want a few hours of feeling mellow/peaceful. Can any of these drugs accomplish that? Can I combine any with alcohol? The only time I've taken pain killers is when I'm in pain but I tolerate meds well (14 rounds of chemo speaks for itself). Any help would be appreciated, I apologize for the lengthiness of this pose. This has been a difficult year for me and I just need a little peace. Thank you!

omg...I am drooling over here. 4mg dilaudid?! Hydromorphone trumps hydrocodone any day. It's like comparing diamonds to used tampons.

The dilaudid will definitely have you feeling peaceful and mellow. For an opiate enthusiast, this is a no-brainer. And I don't mean that in a condescending way...I'm only emphasizing my point of view.

I hope it gives you a bit of piece...and I hope you have a better year for 2015. Take that, and post a little while after and tell us how it goes.

lol. Thanks for the info. I actually opted for the Vicodin because the Dilaudid is pretty heavy duty and I was a little scared. I only have 4mg Dilaudid and I don't know if it comes in a lower dose. If so, I may try that instead.

Dilaudid come in 2 mg dose or you could split them in half. I wouldn't drink while taking either pain medicine or Ativan because they all are CNS depressants. Love your user name, good luck with the cancer!
