Does believing in Evolution say a lot about you

HYPNOSIS,

With all due respect ( and I mean that) I believe I too have used patience.

It was presented early on and eluded to throughout that evolution is fact.
IT is taught to children as a fact, with zero shot of being wrong. I have a problem with that.
Because this is suppose to be science were talking about. All the things you can test and observe---fine. Claim that a fact. But dont take pseudoscience and pawn it off as fact that is dishonest--- ( not saying YOU are or are trying to)
Flat out that is wrong. Its just wrong I dont know how you argue otherwise honestly?

Now its fine that you want to believe in morphic resonance, pansermia, aliens, punctuated equilibrium, etc, or the tidy bowl man waving a wand,
But dont call that science.
That is pseudoscience---science fiction by definition if you will.

I appreciate an honest prospective ---believe me they are to hard to come by on this thread.
I can respect your opinion----i can
but it is your OPINION.

And I address points as they come up.
This for example is a new one.
I cant help relevant points that have been discussed come back up.

But I think you will agree that not a lot of people may not have heard of ideas such as you expressed.
its a discussion, its suppose to do what discussions do-- be informative
thx for response

I can tell your respect is sincere :) You've actually made me chuckle quite a few times reading this so I bear no ill will!

The thing is - evolution is pretty much as close to a fact as it gets. Evidence has been presented in this thread that clearly shows evolution occurs :/

Aside from the tidy bowl man(?!), and aliens (perhaps....), I wouldn't class those points as pseudo-science (I'm sure Rick may have a few choice words over my inclusion of morphic resonance mind...). The fact that science is looking into, and takes seriously these ideas draws them from mere pseudo perspectives. In all fairness, in my mind, they offer a more tangible explanation as opposed to 'god did it!'

You're right, they haven't, and they do catch some slack, which is why I thought you may like them ;)

Take it easy buddy

NO NO,
You misunderstood.
I appreciate you bringing up idea.
I welcome honest opinion
You may have well introduced term to many who have not heard it.
I dont suppress proposed ideas, just balance them out when proppsed as facts
I hope u didnt take last post as personal attack

Of course not!
I may have misunderstood mind, but that is one of my defining characteristics - misunderstanding shit!

I think you're alright dude - hang around, post here, but drop the evolution attack!

Or don't, I don't actually mind :)

EDIT: I just think the whole idea of evolution is beautiful. I see the whole freakin' universe do it! Gas evolves into stars, the stars evolve planets, planets evolve life, then life picks up the Idea of increase in novelty also, and proceeds to evolve these countless beings! (I use the term evolve somewhat loosely when referring to stars/planets etc)

Duly noted....

Im not angery at theory of evo
the theory is what it is
But I guess anytime the theory is challenged or questioned it gets viewed as an attack.
Comes with the territory.

yes, I too see beauty of complexity
difference with me is when I see something complex such as a car motor and then see a motor a fan, I see a common design
Begs question of who designed it.
Small fan motors need precise changes to become
become car motors.
I guess you could keep taking off parts and moving screws and bolts around at random,
It just seems kinda tough when HAVE
to use the fan to cool you while doing it:)

I do see what you're saying, and like I said, I think a strict reductionist/materialist approach to evolution may not account for everything. I think there's something else at play...
What that is? Well it looks like we'll have to wait and see for the time being - but that's the fun of science!

Ok kiddies,

Here another one.
Get some water to swallow it down.

Convergent Evolution

You need wings?
Hey, I got wings.

You just cant make this up....
.....um well. I guess you can.

tune in next time for more

Meth, you said you do not thing species are immutable. What do you think are the mechanisms at play if not evolution. Be honest. If you say God or even you dont know I can accept your opinion without anger.

http://creation.mobi/refuting-evolution-2-chapter-4-argument-natural-selection-leads-to-speciation

Yes , God. A creator that created everything for its purpose and all living things according to their kind.
Be careful with word species and speciation as they can mean different things. Are set by man.

Darwin wasnt entirely wrong. He correctly noticed things change within their kind.
But his pride took it just a littltle too far and he wrote a check with is mouth his ass couldnt cash and claimed change within kind could produce the info needed to make complex parts.
A change within kind results from information that they were programmed with. They are not adding new information required change a species.
Mutations, adaptation, natural selection, genetic drift do not violate this.
New information is required to change the 4bit DNA code before it is able to start making new parts. Not just an out of place letter or two.
You need specific code to form new parts.
An example would be kin to hitting your keyboard randomly and expecting a new code to be wrote. Theoretically possible, but you could same for just about anything.
You have to ask yourself do you think codes, like a 2 bit or binary computer code, could be wrote randomly. How bout a 4 bit code (which is what DNA is) that produces a three D object. Just isn't even plausible to me.
I could get mkre in depth with this.

I left a link that may answer some of your questions.
I tried to answer honestly as you gave aa honest request.
I dont mind someone laughing at my faith.
It would be hypocritical of me if I did

I just submit with both have faith in the unseen.
I have heard the many arguments against the bible, but I haven't been persuaded by them.
I just know the change we can obsserve does not explain how life arose from non life and definitely doesn't account for programmed organisms.
I am always careful to not be ignorant enough to say I know exactly how or why God created things. To put limits on his abilities or question how or why he does things. ALL I can do is go on what I can observe and what he reveals.
Darwin would done well to do the same.
Hope I answered your question
And no, I cant prove God exists:)
Seems to be part of his plan

Naw, just the ones that are wrong.

The funny thing is even if the theory was true
( and it isn't),
it doesn't negate God.

I need not have an answer to replace a false theory.
It should stand on its own merit.
If it cant stand, it can stand.
Not my fault/problem

That's not funny.

You need to at least have an inkling. Without evolution, how we got here is baffling.
I'm not saying you need to have a rock solid theory to replace it.
But, how - practically speaking - did we get here?

Were humans around during the Jurassic period?
If not, why not? Where did we come from?

It should stand on its own merit.

It does.

If it can't stand, it can't stand. Not my fault/problem.

It is your problem, though, if you're the one suggesting that it can't stand.

Something has to "stand".

How, according to you, did we get here?

What is more viable?

If God made us, why did he make us after the dinosaurs?

Why, if the universe has existed for billions of years, have we existed for less than a million?

You need to address these questions, in order to be taken seriously.

No, a better example would be an infinite number of monkeys on an infinite number of typewriters.

You consistently indicate that you don't understand evolution at a basic level.

Please don't dodge the questions in the post, above.

edit: It seems like you're suggesting a variation of evolution, in which species change into dramatically different species "overnight" without any transition periods in-between?

Not funny ha ha

"Infinite number of monkeys" "infinite number
Of type writers"

Infinite?
I cant, I just cant.......

You said evolution was like someone mashing keys randomly into a keyboard and that resulting in a code.

Analogically, it isn't. It is more like an "infinite number of monkeys on an infinite number of typewriters".

What "can't" you?

You're just going to conveniently dodge/ignore everything I wrote?

........had to drop the phone and take a minute

Take you seriously with statements like that.
Do I need to explain why?
You seem kinda smart at times but " not so much" others
I am tired,
Short answer to your questions is "God did it"

Like you stated and I have said I need not replace theory for it to be false.
it is an irrelevant
And like I have said before
if the emporer has no clothes he has no clothes
I dont have to explain why or find him another outfit to wear

I need to rest my eyes for a few been watching football all day *headache*

I dont mind answering questions
