Now that my brain chemicals are back in balance you're right. I actually wanted to find my other summer romance at Cream, so I guess that's why I wanted to leave really badly. I think I've fallen in love with a different girl every night in Ibiza haha. You're also right about summer romances never working out, and there's nothing worse than when a girl teases you all night, you stop partying and lose your high to ultimately be denied sex at the very end. This has happened to me before which is another reason why I wanted to run off to Cream and party my ass off to the best djs, take more incredible pills and potentially find my preferred lover!! Life is all about risks, I regret nothing now.
I also have to say John O'Callaghan, Paul Van Dyke and Simon Patterson absolutely killed it, I don't think I've ever heard better music in my entire life. Another thing that always amazes me about Cream is that you get these massive looking lads from all over the roughest parts of the UK/Ireland hugging each other all night long. The magic of mdma. :D
Buddy, wasn't it just the most incredible night? I've been to Cream loads of times and some of them have been epic, but I'm pretty sure last Thursday was the best ever. Whereabouts were you? I was on the steps to the right side of the room near the front, perfect vantage point. Was out on my own but had some luck and fell in with a fantastic group and stayed with them all night. Just totally great people (I love how the media obsess about British tourists going to places like Kavos and Magaluf and behaving badly, but ignore British people going to Ibiza and being kind and nice to each other).
Amnesia - what a place. It's like a cathedral! The DJs were all superb. Solid, classic trance for five hours. Not everyone's cup of tea I know but when van Dyk played Take Me Away (Into The Night) and Patterson played Thump (I think) I don't see how anyone wouldn't have been blown away. I was welling up! Beautiful beautiful music.
I know Cream isn't particularly "cool" and a lot of the house/techno connoisseurs look down on it, but I swear it has the best atmosphere of any night on the island. Like you say, people hugging and high-fiving each other like fools, sharing water, tearful goodbyes for people they'd only met a few hours earlier.
I was only in Ibiza for 2 days/3 nights this time (two nights out) so my brain isn't as destroyed as it usually is, but I am heavy pining for last Thursday night. I'd forgotten how good it could get.
