I bought a shit load of bagels, so been having everything on bagels recently.

Bacon, Egg and Cheese on a Bagel. The egg exploded like a gooey volcano erupting over my hands like hot man goop. It was nice though.

free range chicken. marineted the shit out of it, still tasted a bit too "free range" .... :P

(no, im not an organic food freak, but thats the best way to explain the fresh ness and wholesomeness of the way that bird was grown...)

Grilled ribeye steak cooked rare served with real free range eggs from a small farm and chunky chips.
my sunday speciale

I think all I'll be eating for the next week is bananas. I bought some yesterday and then today my parents brought me another load when they brought my stuff up so I have literally 20 of the fucking things now.

This wasn't just a random present btw, my mums husband works for Fifes so I guess he gets them free? Fuck knows, wish he worked for krispy kreme or something instead. I would actually be obese if I got free donuts though so on second thoughts this seems the best thing.

I also had a bagel today, fucking lush they are <3

Nice.. I do love a good dhansak.

Also.. gis some advice please - I need to buy a cooker. Are ceramic glass hobs at all usable, or should I stump up the cash for an induction hob? (Gas isn't really feasible, and that's the only thing I'm really used to..)

Personally, I would steer clear of ceramic glass hobs myself although we have one in Mallorca and really I get on with it ok. They're really good in some ways (easy to clean, modern ones are pretty fast heating up, sensibly priced), but the touch sensitive glass buttons they have on them for controling the temperature of the rings do my fucking head in. I probably tend to fuck with the heat much more than the average person does though just because of the way I'm used to cooking.

On the other hand, whilst induction hobs are an absolute dream, they're really expensive unless a lot has changed since I last looked. They're easy to break as well and are then very expensive to fix. Iirc the portable single ring inductions we used in a number of the restaurants I worked in are like £2k each. How much you looking at for a four ring hob? I would be inclined to say that unless you really cook a lot and are really particular about the way you cook that you are much better off going with the cheaper ceramic glass option and either not having to save so hard or have the money to spend on something else.

That's massively helpful, thankee! :)

The 4-ring induction cookers I've been looking at are about £700 which is a bit of a stretch, so I might cross my fingers and hope I get on okay with a cheaper ceramic glass one.. shall try and get one with non-fiddly controls, and I suppose if I don't get on well with it, I'll just have to start using the grill/oven a bit more. Tis reassuring to know that they're still vaguely usable, anyway.

Ceramic glass hobs are amazing if you 'like a clean place'.
The most important thing to me is how much the cleaning of a new oven would drive me mental. :/

Link to the induction at that price?

Ceramic glass are really quite usuable, I've just got a pet hat for those fucking buttons they insist on putting on them. Give me a regular knob that you turn to make the ring hotter any day. If you can't go gas then one of these is probably a really good option (even with the fiddly buttons), they're really pretty decent these days.
